"This hotel was magnificent. The building, room, grounds, staff and food. I had booked Staindrop Lodge which was disgusting. I checked out within half an hour and booked Whitley Hall which was amazing. I contacted HOTELS.COM for a refund for Staindrop Lodge but they called the Manager and unbelievably took his word and refused me a refund. Wont be using HOTELS.COM again. "

On our first night we had food at the hotel, the menu choice was very poor, and very expensive, also the atmosphere in the dining area was dreadful. It felt like a café.
