"This property is UNSUITABLE for pilgrims, despite its close proximity to the Camino del Norte. There were no washing or drying facilities for clothes beyond ones ability to improvise in the bathroom. The owner was uncontactable and did not respond to my WhatsApp message written in Spanish. They did not have a stamp for my Credencial del Peregrino to record my stay, a necessity to prove having walked the route. There were no cooking facilities beyond a microwave and the restaurant at the hotel...

"Oscar speaks no English, but that was NO problem. Very accommodating and funny. We would have spent more time, but schedule did not allow. Breakfast was ready for us in the morning, and all the coffee we wanted. Old world charm, and very nice. Oscar truly was a great host. "

"We were 5 and stayed in the 8 beds room. The heater was switched on and beds were made when we arrived late in the afternoon. Aitor was there to welcome us and gave us a tour of the house which was recently renovated in mid 2022. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The breakfast was the best we had during our 5 days trip in Pais Vasco. We ordered dinner from a local takeaway as we were too tired to go out. "The hotel is in a very tranquil, country setting but not far from Bilbao. It is an old house that has been beautifully restored in a rustic manner. The lady, who seemed to do everything, was very kind and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable with a very modern shower. The evening meal and breakfast were plentiful and good quality. The only negative thing was that there was no lift and the stairs were quite steep."

"Lovely casa rural, sympathetically restored to provide comfortable accommodation. Especially enjoyed the view of the goats from our room. Lots of information about what to see and do locally. We caught the train from Bermeo up the estuary to Gernika, a lovely trip."

"It was deep in snow when we arrived and my husband didn’t believe the sat nav so we were lost, we called the hotel and the owner actually got in his car in the snow and came and found us knowing we had an English number plate, well impressed! Great night stop over with a dog traveling to Andorra skiing."

Outstanding hotel

"This is an absolute gem of an hotel. The building and decoration is stunning. Our room had the most incredible floor to ceiling window with sea views. It was spacious and beautifully designed. All staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. The location is fantastic. One of the best places I've ever stayed."

Good Place

"It was a bit hard to find. We used the directions included by the hotel, but their signage is so small that we drove around the block 3 times, then only found a small sign and revolving door, but still unsure where to park, unload etc. Eventually we figured it out, and the place is winderful. The staff very freindly and helpful. Now that we know where to park etc, it is excellent !"
