It was a pleasure sitting out of the deck overlooking the river at the cottage. It’s a very quiet and private location. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
Waking up to the sight and sound of the river was our favourite part of our stay. And we loved the deer, ducks and rabbits that dropped in for a visit. The opportunity to sit in silence while enjoying the sounds of nature was exactly what we needed. Thank you for your hospitality Brian.

Rustic location
It was overall nice, but the shower heads were broken, and we had to switch the breaker a few times as running the toaster and the AC at the same time caused the breaker to switch. Steve is a good host, but this location is definately more on the rustic side, it would be perfect for a nice vacation, in nature, while still being close to the city.
Blueberry cottage was very peaceful. Great time spent with the family away from the city. The cottage had everything we needed.

Nice place but...
The location and view was wonderful. But the house itself needs a handyman to fix issues as they arise. The sliding pocket doors should be a priority. The showers have issues with pressure and temperature control. But overall we enjoyed our stay.
Cottage is cosy, clean, quiet and comes with a beautiful environment. The river flows quietly by the cottage. It is relaxing to sit on the deck and listen to burbling water.
Can't wait to book it again.
This cottage had EVERYTHING we could have possibly needed. It's far enough out of town that it's relaxing, but close enough that if we needed something it was a quick trip..Owner was great at communicating and very helpful.
The Blueberry Cottage is set up well for a getaway. It was a bonus to enjoy a morning coffee on the deck while watching a heron on the riverbank catch his breakfast.
The location is a perfect as you get the advantage of a cottage but it’s only a 10 minute drive into Almonte to enjoy the town (Riverwalk, restaurants, etc.)
Cottage is lovely, very private, and nicely equipped…except if nighttime temperatures fall below 10 degrees C, when you might bring an extra blanket.
Beautiful setting. Enjoyed the wildlife from the deck.
Overall, delightful.
Although the cottage could use some TLC in a few places, it's private, well-equipped and a good jumping-off point for visiting nearby towns. The deck overlooking the river is a great place for wildlife viewing, everything from herons and kingfishers to deer and red squirrels. Steve was very helpful. All in all, a relaxing retreat in pretty surroundings.
The place was very clean and you cannot beat the beauty of its location. Great property right on the river. We saw deer, a blue Heron, blue jays and even a cardinal.
When we noticed the propane tank on the BBQ was low, the owner made arrangement right away to have another tank delivered. Great service, great location, I would not hesitate to book another stay here.
Lovely location - couldn't ask for a better view. Watching the deer cross the river, and the loons float down the water was a highlight of the trip.
Cottage it's self was spot on - clean, lots of space for the 5 of us (one under 3 months).
Host was super helpful when I lost an item
A few short walking trails near by were nice
Would stay again!
The cottage is as described. It has three spacious bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked and has a beautiful deck. Check in was easy. The cottage has lots of fans/ac units and was very comfortable. A perk that both new washer and dryer and a dishwasher are in the cottage. We enjoyed our time.
The main bedroom’s bathrooms’ water pressure was quite low. Although the cottage was clean enough, there were items left from other visitors including old receipts, dirty socks and underwear. The couch under the window is quite warn and you sink in the cushions, but was still useable.
After a very hectic week I had an opportunity to just sit on the deck listen to the birds and watch the wild life including grazing dear across the stream. It was awesome. I can't say enough about the host. My wife left her cell phone and I left my suit behind during checking out. Steve was unbelievable awesome and dropped it of with me during his travel to Toronto @400km away. Can not thank him enough cheers to you my friend.
Our vacation was completely ruined due to the irresponsible actions of this cottage owner. We arrived at the cottage only to find out that it had been double-booked, allegedly because of a "glitch" in the booking apps. The owner then provided us with a hotel room for a night, promising to find an alternative cottage for the remainder of our vacation.
However, the owner failed to secure a replacement cottage, forcing us to return home the next day. This was an absolute nightmare, especially since it was a long weekend and finding last-minute accommodations was nearly impossible. The owner's lack of organization not only wasted our time but also destroyed our plans for a vacation.
We will not be recommending this cottage owner to anyone and strongly suggest that potential guests look elsewhere for a reliable and responsible host.
This was a great little cottage. My family and I were at a family wedding near by. Cottage had all amenities, except a BBQ(although it was not one offered). The place was clean and the owner responded to any questions very timely. We did have issues closing the bathroom door and the shower heads spray was affected due to the hard water. Besides that we loved the privacy, the location on the river. Free firewood was available in the shed, which was greatly convenient.
Lots of bedding and extra towels on site.
The may 24 weekend ended up being very hot and the cottage had no A/C, although it did have fans for every room. We were able to have other family over for a dinner the one night as they allowed max 20 people for gatherings. This really sold us as we would have been in a hotel and no place to gather. You can park a4 or 5 cars in driveway and good size property for outdoor games. Very peaceful place.
I would definitely rent again if it was not too hot if no A/C. If it had A/C I would rent again if it was hot.
Overall, a very positive experience!!

This is not a 4 season cottage
We stayed for a few days between Christmas and New Years. The place is very small, no big deal. It looked like the whole place had been wiped down with one very dirty cloth. The outside of the fridge was filthy, and there was various spoiling food inside.
The counters and floors were so dirty I spent the first hour or so just trying to clean. Bathroom door was broken, and everything just looked old and tired. The kitchen was very poorly stocked, we had to buy a frying pan just to make simple eggs for breakfast. It was also freezing. Since the building is on stilts, the floors are very cold, those of us who brought slippers we ok, but others feet ached right up into their knees. I do not recommend. I cant help but think the other reviews were for a different place.
We stayed for 8 days enjoyed our stay, had everything we needed & then some. Washer & Dryer needed to be cleaned out a bit but otherwise everything went well, would defenitly stay again!!!
