"Great location and easy parking (discounted rate provided at hotel - simply park up and pay at Reception). Our room was spacious and comfortable with double aspect windows looking out towards the river. Could do with a little TLC (extractor fan not working in the bathroom and toilet flush not great!) but nothing that affected our stay. "I like its history and the Staff are excellent. I disliked: a) Wasting so much milk. I only needed a small spoonful. b) Morning shower.......the water was tepid at the most despite the fact that I reported it and was assured it would be better next day. c) Noisy, especially on Friday night. I could feel the bedroom floor vibrating. d) I found the dinner menu very limited after the first evening. "

"We were greeted with a big smile and enjoyed friendly service throughout our stay. Our room was clean, warm and very comfortable. Both our dinner and breakfast at Royal Oak were delicious and served with a smile :) I warmly welcome Royal Oak for any length of stay and will definitely visit again."

"I stayed in one the cottages and it was super; clean, cosy & warm and designed to a high standard. The private garden a great addition. The restaurant and food is good quality and I thought priced reasonably. Chilham is a pretty village and the White Horse Inn is also super for a drink with the locals. Canterbury is a short drive, or train journey so a great place if you want to visit the city but be in the country. I loved it. "

"Very cute place with uniquely designed, quirky rooms. I loved it! I really appreciated all the thoughtful touches (fudge, cold milk, port, selection of teas and coffee). I needed to leave earlier than breakfast was served, so was provided with a breakfast hamper, which was absolutely wonderful! Very, very good service in the restaurant too. "

"The room had excellent facilities, was attractively furnished in keeping with an historic building and village and spacious. Staff were kind and considerate and thoughtful, much appreciatrd as we are in 80s. Menu allowed for variety of choice, food well presented. Highly recommend New Flying Horse to.all and commend owners for such a high class. well run business at reasonable price "

"Absolutely fantastic suite to just relax and look out of the window and watch the sea. Brilliant High Street with lots of wonderful shops near by. Will definitely be booking again but maybe for a longer stay."

"We are a group of 8 ladies enjoying a weekend away and we had a wonderful weekend at Downs Cottage. The property was perfect… comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful decor, superb location, sauna was a bonus and the garden was very pretty. Deal itself was a very welcoming town, friendly people. We’d recommend Margarita’s for take away pizza and Mike’s Bikes for cycle hire. Walking distance into Deal from the cottage was about 30mins, which along the seafront was no time at all. "Really lovely hotel - very friendly welcome and help with the parking app. Beautiful reception and bar area, with a cosy seating area for enjoying a cuppa or the buy one get one free in happy hour. A very happy blend of old building with modern facilities. Our room (no 18) was very comfortable and had views out over the fairy-light lit patio area - pretty at night. Lovely clean and smart bathroom. Breakfast was very nice (continental and/or English) set within a beautiful dining room. All very convenient too for walking around such a beautiful and interesting city. "

Break between 2 operations

"After one operation for myself earlier this year and another booked in for the end of April, we took the opportunity to get away for a few days in Folkestone and certainly made the right choice of hotel. In a quiet location, the room size was excellent for the price with everything we needed supplied. Whilst an English breakfast was available, we were more than happy with our continental breakfast. When we next look to visit Folkstone, we would certainly look at this hotel first."
