"D Canal was the highlight of our hotel stays in Sri Lanka. The decoration at the hotel was beautiful and unique. The chef made his own Mango, papaya and lime jam which was to die for. It was definitely the tastiest breakfast we had during our trip. The pool was very relaxing and the staff couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable. There is a free tuk, tuk to and from the property from 10am to 7pm which was very generous. I wish we had stayed longer and will definitely be returning. "

"Lovel peaceful hotel - slightly away from central street , but handy for beach. The benefit of being away from centre is that property was well laid out and spacious - properties closer to beach and centre appeared to be quite cramped. Hotel had all facilities you could have asked for - including kettle on 1st floor verandah. We were in no rush to leave"

"Excellent location (right inside Galle Fort) and value for money. The owners were really welcoming, nice and helpful. B&B located in a smaller street of the Fort, thus providing calm. Room with a large bed, A/C, mosquito net and small balcony. We definitely recommend it! We got our breakfast in another hostel managed by the owners."

"Very nice place, quiet and comfortable. Litteraly 2 minutes walk to the beach and lots of restaurants in the area. Ac works good, big room and delicious breakfast. The owner is a very nice and kind woman we recommend 100%"

"Room was small and dark, described as a one bedroom but it was a studio. Common areas were nicely decorated. Restaurant was good and breakfast was included and had lots of options. Hotel did not advise they did not accept credit and then staff became annoyed when we took too long to find a bank machine. Probably better suited for single people and couples rather than families."

"The best place to stay. This is boutique accommodation on a quiet street, a short drive to the main attractions. I loved being surrounded by nature in the pool, seeing beautiful birds and monkeys in the trees, bats and fireflies at night. Staying here was the highlight of our time in Galle. The rooms are large, very clean, with comfortable beds. Our host made us the most superb breakfast each morning. They were helpful with information about things to do and transportation, they also offered...

"Personnel très serviable. En revanche les fenêtres qui ne ferme pas et laisse rentrer les moustiques et le bruit c’est pas fameux … L’hôtel juste à côté qui fait de GROSSES fête sur la plage jusqu’à 3h30 ce n’est super non plus …. (Impossible de dormir) Pour l’hôtel à part tous va bien. Pas de wifi Et ils ne prennent pas la carte"

"Very friendly staff and helpful manager. Sri Lankan breakfast was amazing. Room (deluxe) very large and provided extra bed for kids. Short 10 min walk to galle fort. Room very clean and great housekeeping. Pool towels provided. Some minor maintenance issues could do with addressing around pool (tile grouting). "

Excellent Food/Setting and Accomodations

"Excellent/wonderful. Beautiful facility/setting and the staff are wonderful. The breakfast was the best I had in all of Sri Lanka. The dinner choices were wide ranging an excellent. The bed was very comfortable. Excellent water pressure with plenty of hot water. About a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride to the Fort. Highly recommend. "

"Enjoyed my stay. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The hotel itself is nice but the rooms are a bit dated. I would consider this a 4 not 5 star hotel. Special shout-out to Subhadra who was fantastic from housekeeping my entire staff. Definitely a highlight. Would recommend this hotel. "
