"Another wonderful evening at the Parkgate Hotel (even though it was not all for fun) We had an arranged early check-in from Richard, which was a huge blessing and very much appreciated as it was a busy weekend. We had a small plumbing issue in our room, but the staff worked quickly (as always) to have someone come look at the issue, and they were able to resolve the problem without any interruption. The rooms are always beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The Sorting Room and Bar are always a treat, and the staff work tirelessly to bring you a delicious and comfortable experience. Our children are always welcome with open arms, and they are made to feel just as special and comfortable. Simply cannot ask for anything more. I look forward to returning this coming week for my birthday and another weekend for an all girls Wicked adventure, because you can't ask for a better to celebrate life. Thank you, Parkgate "

"I stay in Cardiff regularly for work, and had previously opted for slightly higher price point rooms elsewhere. An unexpected trip led me to book here, and I was very impressed. Sure, the rooms are smaller than other offerings, but I’m staying for business- and I’m usually paying for space I don’t use. The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve slept in in the city, the shower one of the warmest (once it heated up!) and despite no opening window, one of the most pleasant in terms of temperature. The breakfast was basic, but for a few pence under a tenner- very good value.. hot bacon/sausage breakfast with orange juice and a latte with pastry for after? Works for me. WiFi was strong and consistent too. Really pleasant reception staff, Sarah who had just started was friendly when checking me in - as were her colleagues helping her. I’ve had far worse stays for twice the price here, and you don’t get much closer to the station.. which you thankfully don’t hear either! (Despite me overlooking the tracks). Will be back. "
