We arrived at the Inn at dusk on Friday after a 2.5-hour drive from Montreal, only to be informed, rather nonchalantly, that our reservation had been cancelled. We were extremely surprised, as we would have expected to be notified ahead of time (email, phone or sms) to revise our travel plans. The representative at the inn assured me she tried calling, but admitted she may have dialled the wrong number once we reviewed my call history. The reason the reservation was cancelled was due to a booking error with Expedia (lack of inventory), however I believe the staff demonstrated a lack of professionalism and care in dealing with this situation. After some discussion, the staff realized they had a free room for us for the first of our 2 nights, and we were relieved not to have to look for another place to sleep on such short notice. Unfortunately, we shared room #12 with a few roommates that included a large group of yellow ladybugs huddled into a corner of the room, a few mosquitos, and a large (1.5 inch) bug of a different species on our luggage. We did our best to be understanding, but this Inn is clearly short-staffed which affects the service, reliability, cleanliness and overall value of staying here.
