Riad Dar Saba - Saba'S House
5/5 Excellent
"This is the place to stay while visiting Tangier. The location is perfect for exploring the Medina, museums and walking distance to restaurants. We wanted to be right in the thick of things, so stayed away from the big hotel chains near the train station. You walk out the door and feel transported in time. The riad itself is gorgeous with a stunning collection of artwork and extremely nice and helpful owner and staff. Abdullah greeted us and arranged a car to take us to Chefchouen. Zechariah was so helpful as well as all the staff. Roya, the owner, gave us great advice about what not to miss. We did not get a guide, preferring to wander around ourselves and take it all in. We felt very safe.
The breakfast experience was amazing——loved all the Moroccan breads and pancakes.
My only advice is to visit this lovely country when it’s not Ramadan. We feel we missed out on the normal buzz of activity and food. Most tea houses were closed during the day and there was no street food, completely understandable as everyone fasts all day. Can’t wait to come back!"
