"A nice villa in an excellent location for all the excellent beaches, but in need of some upgrading. External Walls need painting, some of the bathrooms need updating and the dishwasher and toaster didn’t work. The owners did get someone in immediately to repair the dishwasher , but it still leaked when they had gone."

The area is quiet and suburban but within 10 minute drive of lovely Atlantic beach with nice restaurants. You can get a taxi into Lisbon for not much more than €20.
