Mattress was way too hard. So it wasn't really comfortable.
But the location was nice. Really convenient. Close from the station and the city center.

Great location, 15 minutes walk to main streets, restaurants and the castle. Nice hotel, small rooms, beds low and uncomfortable, ok breakfast.

Clean no frills room stiff bed and a little chilly
This is a basic hotel. Check in went smoothly and we did not have any issues during our stay The room was quite chilly when I checked in and the heater turned off again when I went out for dinner. It took some time before it heated up to a comfortable temperature at night. The bed was stiff for me, but I guess Japanese are used to that.
We used this hotel as a base for Matsumoto, as it is in a good location to explore the town and is very close to both the train station and the castle! We also visited Kamikochi and hiked up Mount Yakedake while staying here, as all the lodging in Kamikochi was booked months ahead of time. This was a very nice accommodation in a very quiet town, and the staff were very nice and eager to use English with my friends and I. They were very helpful and the included breakfast was really delicious! Definitely would recommend others, English speaking or not, to use this hotel as a base to see the sights of the town and the nearby Japanese Alps.
We arrived early and although we were not allowed to check in, when we returned to the hotel, all our luggage had been moved to our room. Staff were always helpful and friendly at front desk, including free bicycles which were great! What we liked most about this hotel was the fact that every device in the room - air conditioner, TV, even the toilet!- had instructions translated to English so we could utilise them properly. The laundry in the hotel was handy too -300 yen to wash and 100 to dry.
2nd floor room with view of neighboring building. Small room with dirty carpets and old smell. Breakfast was good.

Inflexible
I made a mistake in my reservation dates and when I tried to change was told there was no way and instead of accommodating me they charged my one night's stay. Needless to say I took my business elsewhere.
A nice hotel with friendly staff. A good location for walking to all of the local attractions. The staff were very helpful booking us into a tour at a local sake brewery.
The room was spacious and clean. The shower had good water temperature and pressure. They had complimentary toothbrushes, combs, razors and other toiletries.
Hotel relatively close to the station, the castle (about 10 min walk each). The room was fine.

Hotel was less than a mile from the castle which was awesome to see. The room was large size compared to other Japanese hotels. Beds were very hard, but comfy if you like a very firm mattress. Bathrooms are very small. Felt like I was in a camper bathroom. Breakfast was not western style at all, completely all Japanese food so if you are expecting American food, this is not the place to stay. The little pub inside the hotel was so quaint, we loved it! If you are looking for a place to sleep and shower, this is for you. If you are looking for luxury and all the extras, go someplace else.
I stayed here for 2 nights and really had a great time. The neighborhood the hotel is in is quiet, but 2 blocks east is really happening. The staff were very helpful, I lost my watch but they returned it to me. I was very happy with my stay.
Clean and tidy,
5 mins walk from station.
Washroom is small but clean
Twins rm with one double and one single bed
Hotel is in centre, shopping and food around us, very convenient
It is walking distance for sightseeing.
Actually stayed 2 nights on 2 different reservations. The staff offered to move my bags while I was out so I didn't even really need to check out. I left my watch in the bathroom by accident and they found it and gave it to me.
Hotel is very near the nightlife yet far enough away from it and the train station to be quiet.
