"The hotel is perfectly situated on the beach. Staff are wonderful, friendly and very helpful; in particular the manager who made an effort to provide advice and help when I was concerned about my flight. Food is good, with plenty of choice and the cocktails are great! The room is spacious, clean and quiet. There are two pools so the area doesn’t feel crowded Highly recommend "

"The Zanzibar Retreat is a lovely beach front oasis, with beautiful gardens, swimming pool, and miles of gorgeous white sand beach to walk. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet. There are plenty of chairs, either on the beach or by the pool, and little nooks to sit with a drink or read a book. It was the perfect place to relax after 14 days on safari. The owners are always on site interacting with guests and the food was delicious. The shrimp mango salad was a favourite. "

"We spent four nights at the hotel before staying at a large, expensive all-inclusive resort. After the all-inclusive, we came back to Double A, which we preferred. We enjoyed the personal service, being steps from the beach and the swimming pool that was shaded by beautiful flowering trees. The breakfasts which were included were excellent. The bartenders, chefs and waitstaff were all friendly and attentive.The dining area overlooks the ocean and the food was delicious. There is also a pool table that is free to use. We felt very safe and well cared for during our stay. I highly recommend staying at Double A Nungwi Beach Hotel. -Tom and Elly Norby from Alaska"
