"Nice place to stay. Comfortable clean rooms. I thought for this price they may make the beds. I also asked for a special request that the said they could do, but they didnt end up doing it... It was flowers on the bed for my girlfriends birthday. Then we asked if we could have one more breakfast as we were still hungry as compensation for not having power for the day and then they said no, which wasnt a big deal. Just thought they may do that. The serving staff were very nice."

"Overall, this hotel is very average. There were a few positive and negatives. I’ll start with the positives. After asking for water and toiletries, they were eventually provided. "We really enjoyed our stay, staff were excellent, the food was generally really nice especially the Sri Lankan dishes. The place is very quiet, clean and calm. I highly recommend it for people who are trying to escape the daily rush. However, I advice to search this accommodation thru several different agents, as some of them might offer a very good discounts, which we couldnt get due to the booking with expedia."

"Has very nice location and lovely staff. Room is large and very clean for the price. Only problem was often the shower would not run cold water only boiling hot which you could not shower under. Also the fan rooms are very stuffy as no window you an open-normally we find fans rooms to be sufficient but here it was hotter in our room than outside. All in all would reccomend just maybe with AC!"

"We stayed at the Spice House for 5 days as part of a 3 week tour of Sri Lanka. Its well placed for easy walking to local restaurants, beaches and sights and the owner was able to arrange transport and guides to further afield locations.Breakfast was always more than ample and very tasty. "We had a wonderful stay at Angel Rest. The owners are very kind and helpful. We cooked in their kitchen, showed them some of our cuisine and got taught making crab curry. Its just 200m to the beach and 800m to the supermarket. The rooms and bathroom are new, bed is comfortable. We added two extra days."

"First of all, great facility, kind staff and good service! Don’t necessary feel that it was value for the money unfortunately (after comparing with the other stays around Sri Lanka). A few bullet points for improvement: should be able to order breakfast and lunch on the spot and not need to book the day before, cleanliness around the pool area during the day, should have more than one dining table. "It was a wonderful stay at the hotel. Right by the beach away from the busy stretch in Waligama, but still close enough to walk to the restaurants and surf shops. The staff was extremely friendly and help with anything I needed. Restaurant overlooking the pool and and the beach. Surf classes also offered right by the hotel. Rooms are very spacious and nice."
