"The customer service was out standing. They were on top of each and every thing asking several times how they could help me and how did I sleep and how did I like my dinner. The food was incredible. I was escorted to and from dinner each night. They helped me make phone calls to be sure I would be picked up from the airport to my next hotel. Wonderful. Wonderful Wounderful"

"The lodge is located in a central place amongst the vast Serengeti, so it is relatively easy to visit the sites where the animals are located. I found the buffet fantastic with a great chef and helpful staff. Dancers accompanied the evening meals and there was a nice vibe in the dining area. You cannot leave the premises of the lodge, it literally is too dangerous to do so, as hyenas, warthogs or even a hippo may attack you. An incredible sight I witnessed was to see a giraffe appear at night behind my room! Some mornings, monkeys would appear on the roof of the lodge, but they were harmless and ran away from the sight of us. The views from the lodge of the Serengeti are fantastic and many a guest woke up early to try to witness the sunrise or sunset. The rooms are just about spacious enough for 2 people but the wi-fi is poor. Lights go out at 12 midnight and there is no hot water from 12 to 6 AM, not a huge issue for me personally. The gym has a good set of equipment’s and was not busy at all during my stay. I regretted not taking binoculars for my safari and I think it would be a good business opportunity if the lodge rented these out. "

"The Malakai is essentially brand new, beautifully designed, tastefully decorated and kept in impeccable condition by the staff. I cannot say enough good things about the people that work there – led by Alex at the front desk and his team, they were very polite, overly attentive to all my needs and they provided superior service. Simply stated, there was nothing they could have done to make me more comfortable. In the evenings around dark, they secured my tent, and in the mornings, they opened things up so I could enjoy the spectacular sunrises. Even though it’s a 2-minute walk from the main lodge, the staff also accompanied me in the evenings to and from my tent since it can be dangerous to walk alone at night. Safety here is a top concern – each glam tent has a 2-way radio so guests can reach out in case of a problem or any other needs that might arise. Given that I have a vegetarian diet, they prepared whatever meal I requested, and they did so in very creative ways. Being such a new property, there are still a few wrinkles they need to work out, the most important of which is getting a stronger router and extending wifi range so the signal can reach all the glam tents on the property - now, the only way to get a strong wireless signal is from inside the main lodge. The cell signal in the area is very weak/non-existent. I hope to visit Tanzania again and I will definitely stay at the Malakai Resort. It was magical. "

"This company is completely untrustworthy. We had one night reserved here and two night at another of their properties. We wanted to stay at this property for an extra night, and cancel the first night at the other property. Everyone told me this would be fine - the staff at this hotel, the staff at the second hotel, and their main office staff. They said to book the second night at this place and then send a request through to cancel the first night at the other property and they would accept it. So I did that. But they rejected my request. They blamed the computer systems, claiming to have accepted. The property manager at the other hotel assured me that the company would sort it out with the travel agency. He even told me he had a notation in the file about the size of the refund. I followed up to get the refund for the first night at the other property and now the main office is saying we stayed there for the full two nights which is completely false. Needless to say, I have enough documentation to challenge this through my credit card, but I shouldn't have to. Long story short, don't do business with this company - they will lie to you and everyone else just to squeeze some extra money out of you. "
