"Overall, what a lovely stay. Il get the negatives out the way first! -We arrived on a Tuesday and the front desk isn’t open. We had no idea where to go and there were no instructions on the booking confirmation or website how to check in on Mondays and Tuesdays when the main desk is closed. We eventually were pointed to the white goose restaurant by a lovely older couple who’d also had the same problem when checking in, and were able to pick up our keys from there. Would be great if when booking they let you know what to do! - When we checked into the room, there were unfortunately still some slight marks in the toilet :/ Positives: - Beautiful grounds with plenty of parking right outside - Lots of really nice touches in the room such as robes and slippers, good quality shampoo and conditioner, vanity kits, water and milk in the fridge, and lovely coffee machine with biscuits - We ate at the white goose for pizza when we arrived and it was incredible - Breakfast was cooked to order and local products used… and fresh orange juice. Overall, we would absolutely come back!"

"Lovely place to stay. Everyone was helpful and nice to be around. The breakfasts were a set menue but there was nothing wrong with them, they set me up for the day. The evening meals were tasty well presented and plenty of it with a good choice to suit everyone. I would highly recommend "

"The stag were extremely welcoming, warm and friendly. The room was a very good size with a modern en-suite bathroom. The evening meal menu had a varied selection for all tastes and the quality of food was excellent, being very well cooked and presented. Breakfast was high quality local produce with a large serving. Overall we had a fantastic stay and great nights sleep with a large high quality mattress and comfortable pillows. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue and we would definitely stay again when in the area."

"its a lovely hotel, fabulous view, comfortable accomodation. the lake walk is pleasant, and the walkway maintained to make it reasonably accessible but not fully pushchair / wheelchair capable. its great that its dog friendly and animals are allowed in and around the place food is very nice, all made to a very high standard. it is pricy but its very pleasant and you dont feel short changed. a good location for a special event. "
