"Before arriving I was in email contact with Joseph, the concierge whom answered every question, arranged a van from the hotel. During the trip our companion broke her wrist and was ambulance driven to the hospital where her and her husband sat in Limbo for 4 hours. I called Joseph whom explained while healthcare was good in Malta, the state run hospital was short handed and could be a full day disaster; instead he suggested a private hospital we switched to whom triaged, xrayed, diagnosed and cast her arm in 2hours total! Joseph made a bad situation so much better. Sunny and the breakfast staff were stellar as was the maids, grounds keepers and Amy in reception whom we purchased a very fair priced upgrade for the room. We have traveled all over the world and this property was perhaps the best we had ever been. It wasn’t the fancy stone, spacious rooms, beautiful pools though they were certainly present; it was the people who made the difference. "Everybody was amazing! Shan from reception, Alice and Sujata from spa, Julian from the gym, Cristy and Renelyn from the restaurant. Basically everybody from this hotel are excellent! The amenities are superb! 645 sea view room with the bath tub, love it! It would be perfect if the toilet is in the same area as the bathroom or even just have a bidet but because apart from that I absolutely loved my stay in this absolutely superb hotel. I will definitely come back! It's near everything and the view is just out of this world. "

"Loved Malta stay at Grand Hotel Excelsior. The moment we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff and welcome drink. Raj Kumar was very friendly and helpful from front desk. He guided us on taking the Gozo day trip on our own. Excellent customer service by Raj and all others at the hotel. Reading some negative reviews on the hotel I was bit hesitant on booking, but the hotel exceeded our expectations. Hotel is walkable to the main center of Valleta. Rooms were spacious with daily housekeeping. We enjoyed our stay three days stay with Excelsior. Breakfast was good with ample choices. We would certainly stay here on our next Malta trip. Highly recommend it. "

"This was my third stay at the Verdi, St. Georges Bay. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. They are always smiling. Always willing to help. Breakfast was plentiful with choices for all.. I would have liked more fresh fruit but sitting on the terrace looking out to sea is a perfect way to start the day. My room was large with a wonderful sea view balcony. It was cleaned each day, often whilst l was at breakfast, to a very high standard. There is building work going on across the road from the front entrance but this did not impact on my stay as the rooms are at the back of the building overlooking the bay and out to sea. Numerous very good restaurants are within a 5 minute walk and there is a bus stop outside the hotel if you wish to go further afield. St Georges bay has a sandy beach, rare in Malta and there is a dive centre for the more adventurous. There is a casino and several clubs within easy walking distance. Far enough away to not disturb the hotel's residents but there if you want them. Some people have mentioned that the rooms look "tired". I would agree with this but to me cleanliness is far more important than the latest colour on the walls! A comfy bed and good blackout curtains more important than shiny new furniture."
