Great week of fun. Kids ages 16,14,12. Fun kayaking, fishing, & exploring the UP. Amenities exceeded our expectations with extra toiletries, and an amazing selection of cooking options including crock pot, spices, & more. Communication with the owners was quick & efficient.

Great cabin.
Nice cabin. Window Ac did fine. Kids were able to use the loft or sleeping arrangements might have been cozy for us. Its a clip from Manastique and Munising, which we rldrove to or around every day. Grill/griddle was inoperable and cleaners were 90 minutes late which delayed checkin but honestly, not a big deal. Would def stay again!

Cozy Cabin
It seemed as though owners thought of everything we could need! It has a well-stocked kitchen and many things are provided by owners. It is located in a beautiful area close to Hiawatha Nat’l Forest for quiet hikes and is not far from many great spots to visit. Restaurant options are not great but the grocery store in Manistique was a pleasant surprise so we cooked at the cabin. All-in-all, we’d rent again.

Only small issues
I enjoyed much about the property and was very excited for a good kitchen and comfortable layout. My only real complaints are the sink felt small to do dishes in. As well as the cabin is beautifuly decorated but it leaves little counterspace for day to day living.

Care free
Ice Fished out on the lake for several hours a day. Didn’t catch anything, and didn’t care. Excellent option for escaping the real world to sit around, relax, play cards and enjoy yourself. I would absolutely recommend this property to other visitors. Excellent commute to Manistique. Can’t beat it.

Comfortable get-away spot!
Our family met here for Christmas 2022 during a blizzard and the cabin was perfect for staying warm and safe. The cabin had everything we needed for prepping meals, including kitchen staples like spices, oils, sugar, etc. We enjoyed watching movies and using the WiFi as needed. The setting was beautiful - surrounded by woods, very quiet and peaceful. We would definitely meet here again in the future.

Well Stocked, Clean, Remote, Cabin on Beautiful Thunder Lake near Manistique, MI
This cabin is pretty remote hard packed dirt roads are the only way to reach it especially if arriving from the north. Your car will get dirty. We did not mind this. The cabin is perfect. Beds are comfortable and there are lots of sheets, pillows and blankets. The loft area where there is an extra bed gets a little warm but fans are provided. Lots of kayaks are available free of charge and kayaking the lake is a must! The cabin is so well stocked with grocery staples that you really do not need to bring much. We didn't even visit a grocery store during our week stay. We brought our own garden vegetables and hamburger, hotdogs, and chicken for the week. The shower has a very strong spray but the tub/shower is very clean. The grill is in perfect condition. The fire pit was well stocked with wood. Roasting forks, small cooler, axe, etc., everything you need is there. We didn't have contact with the hosts while there, there wasn't any reason to. The place is perfect for a quiet and relaxing vacation. The journey is long to go to Muinising, Pictured Rocks Lakeshore, etc. But as long as you don't mind a little dirt the journey is fun! We saw 2 Eagles, lots of deer, cranes and all the other forest creatures during our stay (no bears). The waterfalls are amazing. We especially liked Miners Fall and Sable Falls. My son and wife hiked to Spray Falls. It is an 8 mile round trip hike (don't believe anyone that tells you it is any shorter!) We made it and it was beautiful! Take lots of water for the walk is strenuous in the heat of the day. We found a great restaurant in Muinising called The Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden. The whitefish is prepared any way you want. The beer is cold and they have full bar. The Beer Garden is pet-friendly and shaded. Loved this place especially after an 8 mile hike. We all fell in love with the Upper Peninsula and Thunder Cove Cabin Rocks!!!! Great job Gordon and Kim, we wanted for nothing more!
