"A nice, clean old lodge on the river. Rooms are small but if you get one facing the river they have a small but adequate deck which is highly recommend. Breakfast is included which has a nice selection of breads, fruits and other continental offerings. I’d definitely go back."

"A colleague of mine recommended Stavrand and so I booked it as a birthday getaway-- it was PERFECTION! Everything I wanted and more! This might just need to be an annual tradition. The only flaw was the alarm on our bedside clock going off at 6am(!) BUT I have to say, if that hadn't happened I wouldn't have gotten to sip coffee downstairs in a cozy nook while reading my book and gazing at the foggy redwoods out the big beautiful windows. So I can't complain! We will be back. "

More than expected

"This was such a great oasis getaway! The property felt secluded, even though it is only a mile (and within walking distance) of places to eat and coffee. Two floors connected by a spiral staircase (there is a gravel driveway that extends to the upper floor where the kitchen, living area, outdoor patio, and a second bedroom are located in case there are any accessibility issues) and the bedrolms are on both floors which make it very quiet. Everything I could want in a getaway/ hot tub, fire pit, indoor fireplace, beautiful deck with outside seating to catch the sun. Even a hammock for relaxing a reading a book! Host was VERY responsive, and reached out to me several times, which I appreciated. I would suggest if you don’t know the area to try to come in daylight as the roads are curvy and the actual road that the house is on is one lane. Host gave clear directions, but my phone app also directed me accurately. Would love to come back again!"

"We stayed at aftermath years ago and it was just as spectacular this time. The views of the ocean are amazing as you have a front row seat to watch the waves crash on the beach right below. The ocean rocks you to sleep in the evening. If you get a chance to come stay- bring all the provisions you need and just enjoy this sweet spot. You won’t want to leave "

Oceanfront - Hot Tub - Newly Remodeled Cottage

Nice and quirky

"The house location and view were fantastic. The appliances and sinks and faucets were all very nice. I have never encountered pop out electrical receptacles before. There are some low ceilings in the bathroom, kids bedroom and the television room. But these are easily managed. The morning of our 3rd day we had ants on the counter next to the sink. Interesting, because there was never any food there. But they were quickly dispatched. The hot tub was fantastic. What a view overlooking the beach. I will definitely be returning to this house for another stay. "

Upscale, Spectacular Oceanfront, Inside State Beach Park!

Perfect getaway

"This is a perfect place to unwind. The setting is out of this world and the house itself is incredibly comfortable. All the beds were great, the water pressure was great, it has the best stocked kitchen of any vacation rental we’ve ever stayed at, the appliances are fantastic, the fireplace was a favorite, and our four-legged family member loved the enclosed deck!Thank you for an unforgettable vacation!"

The Cliff House: Panoramic Oceanfront Views by Famed Architect Carson Bowler.

Special place with breathtaking views

"If you dream about waking up and going to sleep with pristine views of the beach and the sound of crashing waves, this is THE PLACE. Stunning property with huge windows on both floors overlooking a beautiful beach and rocky outcroppings on the Sonoma coast. The house itself is really cool - vintage 70s design and decor with lots of wood but not old in its amenities at all. New windows give spectacular views but minimal noise - you'll sleep like a baby on this quiet street, perched above the beach. It's an easy 2 minute walk to the beach access down the cliff or you can drive 1/2 a mile and pay 10 to park and walk right onto the beach (perfect for those seniors with a bit less mobility). We loved the retro appliances and the Smart TV's (Vizio) which had every app under the sun and was easy to use. We had our dog with us and she loved being at the beach every day and the street just outside was perfect for her pee and poop breaks. There's even a small fenced in patch off the kitchen for those late "let the dog out before bed" moments. I hope to return to this special place again - we had a very memorable week and the house was a huge part of that. Thank you for sharing this property with us!"
