"The Lawford was a lovely place to stay in Malindi. The 3 bedroom villa and private pool were amazing. Large upstairs and downstairs lounge areas. Lots of space for everyone. There was a full kitchen with all the pots, pans, utensils etc. Service was great. Staff were delightful. Had fun with pool and table tennis. We would live there, if we could! Our neighbors were a bit loud but management tried to help with the situation. The beach is close but the water was brown and not “inviting.”...

"The staff were absolutely delightful and brilliant. Corazone Ndeya, Brian Angila and Hakim Mukungu were so warm, friendly, patient and informative. The food served was also fantastic with the chef's preparation of prawns, fish and chicken were absolutely delicious. I look forward to coming back next year. "

"This is a great place to relax, but there is not a lot to do at the hotel or within walking distance. The plunge pools with villa are fantastic! Due to the tides in the area, you can only swim in the ocean at high tide, and the water has a lot of seaweed. The restaurant is amazing, we really enjoyed all of our meals and the staff were always friendly and helpful."

"Reception was very rude. They claimed to have not received confirmation of our booking from hotels.com and pestered us for about 24-hours to repay with our credit card or KSH. We asked them to call hotels.com but they never did, so we finally had to do so ourselves with long distance calling rates, to rectify the situation."

"We had a good stay at Lion in the sun. People there are super friendly and really doing their best for you to have a good stay. The rooms are nice, beds are comfortable and so are the chairs. The resort is beautiful with flowers, trees and well maintained swimming pools. On the downside the biggest issue was the internet being unstable and slow and at some times it would disappear completely. Even though you are at a resort and want to relax, internet is essential.
