"This was a very special chance for my daughter and I to visit Kruger Park. So I opted for a special place to stay - Kruger Shalati. We stayed in a train car on the bridge. It was elegant, quiet, and spacious with a spectacular view. Below us in the river was abundant wildlife including hippos. We enjoyed an all inclusive plan with superb dining, gracious service, and two daily safaris with exceptional guides (shout out to Lisa!) "Generally incredible stay. Staff were very attentive. Not as luxury as hotels such as say lion sands which is twice the price though you get all the comfort you need given how busy the days are. If you plan on spending more time in the hotel / room maybe look for more luxury but the balance of comfort and access to the park was perfect for us as first time safari travelers Perfect mix of hotel comfort and access to safari with two daily drives with very knowledgable guides. Small negative was the food was only ok but the quality of the surrounding and access to Kruger more than compensated. We had a family of elephants welcome us on our first day with regular hippo and bird sightings from the terrace during out four nights. We also got engaged in the park. The staff and Elof the guide coordinated an unforgettable experience for my partner and I. Truly made the experience special. "

"The riverfront location was stunning and teeming with wildlife. We saw hippos, elephants, baboons and even lions right in the camp, and every meal was delightful under the shade of the big tree. Our lodging felt palatial, with our own plunge pool, outdoor deck and cabana, unlimited bar fridge, and total privacy. The service was outstanding in every respect, Ron and Louis were our butlers and spoiled us with attention. Nick was our amazing guide, and helped us spot baby lions at a fresh kill, hyenas and all kinds of wildlife and birds, not to mention his great sense of humor and superb sundowner cocktails. The experience was “once in a lifetime” but I can’t wait to return again!"
