"Worst service I never had this experience before any other hotel I book one room they give one and receptionist behave like very rude and I went shopping then I come back receipt said time over but I have time until 15 hrs left then we fight finally he gave one small room .I thought he give my room to any other people I pay 12000 LKR but service like a zero very worst and rude receptionist "

"No toiletries, didn’t feel safe, it’s in a corner of the town that is hidden and hard to find. It was sketchy. There’s a net on the roof of the bathroom so anyone can come see inside from above; no privacy. People can see inside through the curtains. The staff were nice. Definitely not worth it for the price!!!"

"My wife and I decided to stay here after our flight arrived late at night. The address on google is totally different than the actual address. There were some miscommunications and after hours of search for the place (no signs) we ended up finding another dodgy hotel at 2:30am. We worked it out in the am that we would stay at the place the night before we fly out. It took a long time to find the place. It's not really close to anything. "Extremely difficult to find. The adress said Wadduwa, but it is in Kalutara. Our driver used more than 1 hour to find the place, there was no signs at all. The price, compared to next door hotels and their facilities, is too high."

"We walked in an apartment with dust and dirt on the floor, mould behind toilet door, mould on kitchen glass tray. They said this apartment was closed for some time. Housekeeping staff should be trained to check on details. Would not recommend for families who are particular about cleanliness. The management needs to take feedback seriously without giving excuses for lapses."

A beautiful traditional hotel in a prime situation

"This is a beautiful traditional hotel with lots of memorabilia from famous people who have stayed there. It is spacious and comfortable with many choices of restaurants serving a variety of foods. The only downside is in wet weather many outdoor tables/seating aren’t usable. We particularly enjoyed the high tea and watching the criminal lowering of the flag at dusk. All staff members are courteous and friendly."

"We stayed for two nights. ALL of the staff are BRILLIANT and looked after us really well. The room was spacious and the rain-shower incredible… probably the best I’ve had. The on-site Indian restaurant was excellent as was breakfast. Easy to walk around the area and just 5 minutes to Park Street for loads of good dining options. Wholeheartedly recommend Taj Samudra. Thank you."
