"Room was huge and in the main in good condion. However noticeable it was one of the ones not yet updated. Bathroom was worn and old fashioned and needed a complete redo. Sofa bed when as a couch was faux leather and quite damaged. Upon complaining I was kindly offered 2 other rooms but athough these were modernised and newly updated in the end I stuck with original room due to the extra space, how bright it was and the amazing 8th floor view. Just threw a duvet over the sofa. Beds are extremely comfortable and all the items you need in a flat are provided. Staff go above and beyond to help you have a comfortable stay. Especially Michael who was extremely helpful. I would certainly stay again. "

"This is a beautifully unique property. Well equipped bedroom in a wonderfully characterful building. We were on the top floor with views of the cathedral. The stairs are great exercise too!"

"This hotel surpassed our expectations. We had read good reviews, particularly of the service, but we were not prepared for such a wonderful welcome. We arrived a little early but Christophe immediately went to see if the room could be prepared for us as soon as possible and gave us a very welcome coffee while we waited. This set the tone for our stay. Christophe and Pierre Louis were friendly, helpful and available for advice, information and help whenever needed. The hotel is a walk of less than 15 minutes from the station, and has a wonderful location right opposite the castle. The view from our room was amazing. The entrance is via a keypad on a door next to the cafe which leads straight to the stairs and the rooms. There is no lift as such but there is a luggage lift so no need to carry suitcases up the stairs. The cafe which is part of the hotel is frequented by locals, always a good sign. It's well worth taking the continental breakfast here, with as much delicious coffee as you want, and a good choice of food including baguettes and mouthwatering croissants fresh from the boulangerie right next door. Good value for money at 11 Euros each. Our room was not particularly plush, but warm and comfortable with a good size bathroom, perfect for what we needed. We plan to return to Angers to explore the area further and will certainly stay at the Marguerite d'Anjou next time we visit. "
