Beautiful secluded location
The property was exactly as pictured in the listing. It is a very well appointed "West Coast" style stand alone building with a big deck and everything that you need included. The fireplace is wood burning with plenty of firewood available. However, the weather was so warm that we did not need to use it. The sectional couch was very large and very comfortable as well. There are two rentals on this property but they are separate enough that you have 100% privacy around this unit. There are plenty of activities within a short drive and a grocery store about 5 minutes away driving. The only thing that could have been better is the size of bed. It has a comfortable Queen size bed whereas they have enough room for a King.

Amazing Oasis
Hi, My husband and I were looking for a super quiet getaway for the weekend and Moon Dance Perch delivered. The Perch is beautifully designed, loved having a real fireplace to cosy up to. And it's far enough from the road that all you hear is the wind rustling through the trees and the call of birds while you sit on the deck for your morning coffee. We could feel our frazzled nerves from a busy city life totally relax. We spent a chill Saturday in Sechelt to browse the shops and put together an amazing charcuterie board (thanks Plethora Fine Foods!). All in all, it was a perfect getaway. A few tips for visitors: the pantry is really basic, just tea, sugar, salt and pepper. Also, the pot choice was limited to smaller pots (although there were large lids?). Really appreciated the sharp kitchen knives which are often overlooked in vacation rentals.

Just perfect. Everything we needed and more. We cannot wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the deck. Pics are great but in person The speech is spectacular. The art work is devine and the layout is perfect. Just amazing!

A great, relaxing honeymoon destination
My now husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and had a fantastic time. It rained the whole time but that didn’t stop the fun. Great places for take out, amazing views (that looked beautiful even with the rain) and lovely hosts. Kathleen was very easy to get in touch with and always met us with a friendly wave when we drove past her office.

Perfect Romantic Retreat
We had the most relaxing getaway to The Perch. Kathleen was the best host I've ever had, quick and detailed communication, making sure everything was in order. The place was stunning both inside and out. We loved the high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows and privacy... made us not even want to leave. The bathtub was a showstopper and would make a return visit just for that. Thank you Kathleen! We'll be back :)

a truly wonderful stay
You should stay here. It's beautiful. My wife and I needed a quiet getaway after a long year, and the Perch seemed just the right spot to unwind. We couldn't have made a better choice. The views are perfect, the tranquility can't be beat (sitting out among the birds at dawn is an entrancing experience), and the cabin itself is marvelous. Inviting design, comfortable furniture, striking art - not to mention the two-person shower and soaker tub! The soaker tub is surrounded by windows (including one at head level you can open to get some fresh air and birdsong), but you never feel anything other than completely private, surrounded by trees. Kathleen and Brent were superb hosts: there when you need them, invisible when you don't. Nothing but wonderful things to say, and I challenge you to stay here and not feel refreshed. I'm notorious for returning from holiday with a fresh batch of "vacation stress," and it takes a lot to finally just completely relax and let it all go - the Perch (and the hosts) succeeded wildly. Some notes: as others have said, the bay access cuts through the Cabin property, so it's inaccessible when other guests are in (for their privacy). worth checking out, though! it's a mud flat, which is probably less interesting to some of you and more interesting to others. bring a sleep mask. the bedroom is mostly windows, and the drapes don't block a ton of morning sun. the bed is recessed a bit so your head doesn't have a window right next to it, but the furniture is painted white so it still reflects a lot of that light. noise carries over the bay. it's not disruptive, but once or twice we were able to hear an animated conversation from across the water when we were out on the deck in the evening. stands to reason that if you start yelling about something, they can hear it too.

Exhale and relax...
We stayed at the Perch for three nights in August, and it was a wonderfully relaxing time. The space is gorgeous and perfectly complements the natural outdoor setting. We spent a ridiculous amount of time just watching the tide flood in ... and ebb back out. The kitchen is well equipped, the outdoor grill works just fine, the Internet signal is strong, the clothes washer & dryer easily handles loads of dirty hiking clothes, and that soaking tub is genius. The owners are great people and while our encounters were brief, they readily shared local tips and knowledge. One tip for the inter-tidal explorers - bring mudders. It is a mudflat at low tide and you will sink. We'd certainly stay at the Perch again. Looking forward to the next relaxing visit and watching the snow goose mobile spin.

perfect weekend getaway
My BF and I booked this cottage as a weekend getaway for Valentine's Day. It was exactly what we needed - seclusion from the city! We had an emergency come up and was not able to go for the full weekend however, Kathleen and Brent were kind enough to give us a credit! Which we will definitely use. There is no doubt that we will be coming back! I highly highly recommend this place. It has the perfect home away from home feel. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect Destination for a Relaxing Honeymoon Away
The Perch is an amazing honeymoon location. If you are like us and you want to escape to a secluded mountainous retreat after all the hustle of planning and holding a wedding, this is the best possible location. The cabin is very nice with everything you can think of that you will need for your stay. Just 10 minutes away in Madeira Park is a nice market with plenty of choices. In town you will also find various delightful eateries. Every kind of activity you could want from hiking to kayaking is readily available within 30 minutes. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Amazing experience
We stayed at the Perch for a week and spent the time running, kayaking and cycling. We loved every minute. The Perch was a wonderful oasis to return to each night - it is peaceful, well-equipped, beautiful and very private. The open design makes having guests difficult, but we were thrilled with this limitation. The expanse of windows allows a full appreciation of the BC beauty which surrounds the Perch. Kathleen & Brent were great hosts and a source of valuable information about the area. We are already planning our return trip next year...

Great weekend away!
Beautiful property! We attended a wedding in Madeira Park so the location was excellent. We didn't have a lot of time to spend at the Perch but the time we spent there was very peaceful. From a disability standpoint, the property is open concept making it easy to navigate in a wheelchair. Bathroom was also well planned with appropriate grab-bars. Thanks for a great stay. We would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet weekend away!
