"Located very close to JR station, convenient for taking bus to other cities. Not very close to sight seeing spots within the city, about 15 minutes walk, but is acceptable. Next to the hotel is a very famous hida beef restaurant. Very nice!"

"A good location from which to enjoy the Gero Onsen experience. Free shuttle from the train station makes it convenient. The dinner and breakfast are excellent if you like japanese style meals. "The hotel is big and could cater to big crowds without having the guests feeling overcrowding. The 3 onsens are spread over 3 different blocks of building but very walkable within indoor (hence no concern about rain or cold weather). "Hotel was well clean and close to a 7/11 and restaurants. The front desk lady spoke Spanish which made it easy for me to communicate with since I don’t know Japanese. She was amazing and very helpful. 5 star to her too"

"The staff speak English or Mandarin hence communication was a breeze for me. They were very friendly, helpful and polite. The location of the ryokan is within walking distance to the town and close to the train station. Hotel provides a bus shuttle to the train station. From the train station to the hotel, there is also a complimentary ride. I had a very pleasant stay at the ryokan and highly recommend it. "

"Actually, everything is perfect. Anyway, the room can't protect any voice from other room. Air Conditioner is not good for control the temperature in the room. However, the size is quite small but it is not the wrong by the hotel. It just me that may need the big one. If i go alone, this hotel will be my first choice for relax."

"I came to Gero on a recommendation from a close friend. I somehow missed it when I had done a previous Takayama trip and I am glad I came back. The town is very small and the hotel is easily walkable from the station, some people say 15 mins but it was more like 8-10 mins and that was while stopping to take pictures of the Hida river. Great location for the hotel, close to everything. The Onsen in this hotel alternate between male and female daily so you will have a chance to experience both...

"An exceptional hotel that ticks all the boxes for me. Wonderful staff and service. Location is very convenient with a Family Mart a stone’s throw away and close to the Old Town with lots of restaurants and shops. The onsen is a bonus. Free drinks in the evening are very welcome. Love it!"

"All was good for us with the exception of the breakfast. Breakfast was overcrowded and we waited for 30min longer than our scheduled time. "I'm hesitant to recommend Takayama because one of its charms is that it is off the beaten track, and who wants more people there to spoil this? But, in truth, the town is a wonderful place, and this hotel was very good. We came from Tokyo so were delighted to find a very large room, very clean, and very comfortable. "We stayed in the family suite. The design was well thought out and the beds were comfortable. The location was across the street from a 7 Eleven which was super convenient. There is a ramen place next door. It is a close walk to the bus station and you can walk from the hotel into town. Overall it was a really pleasant stay for a family of 5."
