"I imagine this hotel was nice… 20 years ago when the photos advertising it were taken. Such a shame because it’s a nice building in a lovely area. I can’t speak for the original building itself, maybe those rooms are better kept, but we were placed in the outbuilding across the way and the rooms were incredibly tired and shoddy, with chipped paintwork and soiled carpet. "So, the place itself is lovely, food is very good and the service is brill. Room was lovely however, there was a very strong smell of sewerage from the bathroom, there was definitely a build up somewhere which we did report on check out. This was Room 17 and in the corridor you could smell it a little. They said they would speak to maintenance and sort it. But overall, a lovely little valentines trip with the other half. Would defo return. "
