"The property is well organized. We went there after 9 pm and yet we found the property manger was there and she gave the key. After the long journey from montreal we was exhausted but got the key without any issue. We loved our stay there. "

From the welcome bottle of wine, books to read, games to play, well stocked kitchen, extra toiletries this was a perfect location for our extended family get away. The house is tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean! Scotsville is close to the community if Inverness, home of the beautiful beach and golf courses. Egypt Waterfall was also a highlight of this trip. We will definitely consider this home for future trips to this area."

"I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed the Fiddle and the Sea. Our room was spacious and quiet. Spotless too. The breakfasts were excellent, with homemade bread, various egg dishes, fresh fruit and yogurt. Best of all, our host Alain played his fiddle for us at breakfast and gave a brief talk (with photos!) each morning about about the history, culture, landscapes and wildlife of Cape Breton. We learned so much. He and Denise also advised us on things to do and see based on our interests and time. We’d love to stay at the Fiddle and the Sea again."

"The cottage is very clean, new, and airy, and we were provided with pretty much everything that we would need for our stay of five days. It is in a very convenient location close to a grocery store, a pub, a very nice bistro (the Clove Hitch), and a hardware store. The best parts of the Celtic Shores rail trail are very close by. The next-door neighbour who owns the property that goes down to the water encouraged us to walk down and enjoy his space down by the water. (His daughter owns the cottage. ) The sunsets over the water are spectacular. This is a very beautiful part of Cape Breton that we have never explored before. In addition to the rail trail, there are beautiful scenic drives, and hikes on this coast, as well as many lovely beaches and good bird watching! The water was cool, but not icy in mid June and we are told it warms up even more through the summer. A dip at the beach was very welcome after a long bike ride! Be sure you follow the road right up to the top at some point as there are stunning views from the top of Marble Hill Road. The cottage was very suitable for one couple, but has a large second bedroom that could accommodate another couple or two or three other family members. The bathroom at this end of the cottage is larger and has a big soaker tub, which I didn’t get to use as we were there in a heat wave! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and we are hoping to come back here again, hopefully with friends or family."
