"We had a wonderful time! We fell in love with the 3 blue healers. Rocky, Shiner and Bebe. They were so sweet and we played with them a lot at night. The property is beautiful and out in nature. Loooved the outdoor shower. They have goats, chickens, roosters, it was so neat. James was so kind and he and helped us with directions to the local grocery store, Patek’s. "We all had a great time ; especially our granddaughters. James and Marty are excellent hosts. They took the time introduce all the animals to our granddaughters including the goats, chickens, turkey, rabbits and peacocks. The girls got to hold and feed a baby peacock. The accommodations were perfect for us. Thanks for the goat milk for Susan’s coffee. We highly recommend staying at the Byrd’s Nest."

"Group of us doing the local Texas River Marathon canoe race. This place is located in the middle of where we wanted to paddle. Four bedrooms with 1 bath took a little shuffling with 7 folks getting ready in the morning. Daughter works with horses at a boarding ranch at home. So she was a happy girl here. Nice and quite with plenty of room."

"A wonderful place for all in the family to enjoy - from 6 weeks old to 74 - 3 brothers and their families. "The house was exactly as pictured and excellent for the stay. The outdoor space was lovely for our wedding and everyone thought it was a great location/venue. Prior to the weekend communication was excellent but when it came time to actually being there, communication went downhill. A wedding can be high stress so having that happen was frustrating; however, the owner did get someone to come mow the outdoor event space on the day of the event and it gave us just enough time to finish decorating....

"This is the house that you always wish your family had - the cabin or farm house that everyone went to as a group gathering or as a small retreat. The gathering rooms are huge, the beds are soft, and there is just a great feeling of peace. This trip for us was a one-off, we went for a wedding in the area, but if we ever have need to stay in the Austin area and can stay an hour away, this is where we will go back to. Loved it."

"Great apartments, we really enjoyed the view over the food truck park and being so close to so many great restaurants and bars. Pay close attention to the instructions on how to check in and they are clear and easy. We had issues with the hot water. There was limited/no hot water at night, possibly its on an off peak timer or something. Also the shower pressure and head is terrible, the worst I have expereinced. You get a tiny square inch of water, same size as the square shower head. "
