"Lovely hotel, had a nice weekend. Room was spacious and comfortable. Shower powerful. Beds comfy. Was surprised there was no fridge or toiletries, only a wall pump shampoo. Walls are paper thin, thankfully other guests mostly considerate but could even hear noses being blown from next door! Food at brasserie was hit and miss, and the shoutng from the kitchen was odd and unpleasent. As another table commented, it was like being in McDonalds... "We’ve just returned from celebrating my birthday weekend and we've had the best time ever. We truly did feel like a King and Queen for the weekend! "Good sized room with safe, hairdryer , tea and coffee making, robes and slippers. Enjoyed the spa after a good walk. Quality breakfast. My only negative was the bed was too hard so I didn't sleep well. My friends in other rooms found beds ok so personal experience. There are some electric car charging facilities in the car park. "

"Erika's cottage was clean, well equipped and in a quiet location. The view of Blencathra from the back of the cottage is beautiful and we loved seeing the red squirrels who were daily visitors. We didn't meet our hosts so can't comment on them but the emails via VRBO were adequate and we found our way in and around easily. The extra information about the area was very welcome. "I received a call 24 hours before our arrival (on New Years Eve),telling me the booking cancelled due to 'gas issues' in the apartment. I was told they would arrange for Expedia to search for alternative accomodation.
