" La Serra is a beautiful property, set in amazing gardens and with views to die for. It’s special to be so close to the lake and have a patio and garden to enjoy the views from. Nicola is a fantastic host and went out of his way to help with bookings and recommendations, even calling a restaurant to assist with a difficult booking. "Beautiful home with two gorgeous terraces. The shower is a bit tight but the main bathroom is overall very nice. Parking is a bit of a challenge but it’s not terrible you just need to orient yourself in the area because there is lots of parking a very short walk from the property. Angelo is an amazing host. "Our extended family (three generations) stayed for a week at the holiday house. We had a wonderful stay. It is a historic home so there are lots of quirks to remember, but all of them made sense. The kitchen and dining area have everything that you need to make meals for the entire family. "My biases are that I love older architecture. I would guess that this villa is well over a 100 years old and they have maintained the character while modernizing the kitchen and bathrooms. The views are beautiful. It did have a few minor issues that I would expect with an older villa which in no way affected our stay"

"House itself was very spacious and clean. We stayed 3 nights as a family of 7, 5 adults, 2 children. Only 35 mins to Milan. Many restaurants and grocery nearby. Just is very nice and very responsive to all our questions. Tip-ask about all fees prior to booking. Host fees very high. Home is also along side road and traffic can be heard all day/night. Construction began next door on a new home day 2 at 0700. Not the hosts fault, but something to be considered when charging high host fees. Also...

"Though we had to travel for 26 hours to get to Barni from Australia, the experience was worth the effort. Being in a quiet village and being able to engage with the people in the village certainly made the stay in the Villa extraordinary. We were treated not just as tourists but guests of their community. Our grandkids loved playing basketball/ football with the local every afternoon in the adjacent community square.
