"The owner was unaware of our booking as advertised by vrbo. We arrived mid afternoon at portsmouth to attend my son's university graduation, but had no where to stay. We had to take our luggage to the ceremony and carry it to different locations during the event. My two daughters and myself had no car with us and mo extra money to pay for accomodation elsewhere, or even transport to a different property. "We were looking for a place to stay for a 3 night break in the South Downs and were so lucky to find this gemThe Hay Barn is situated well in Upper Farringdon, set in the grounds of the owners family home. First impressions were great the property was clean and very well appointed, a gift hamper containing fresh baked bread, biscuits, beer and other goodies was a welcome treat. "Lovely home, lots of space and the backyard is very quaint. My friends and I rented this for an event happening in the area locally and were pleasantly surprised at how nice the location and overall home was. It all felt very new. My only recommendation would be to make sure if you’re from outside UK to be sure to bring your own converter adapters and note that there’s no floor length mirror (we had events to dress up for). The property manager was very quick to respond and we enjoyed our stay....

Alison even decorated for us, which was a lovely touch and made our stay feel extra special. "Beautiful property in a wonderful location , very clean, well equipped and cosy, beds and bed linen were heaven, kitchen with a wonderful island with stools underfloor heating and a sitting room with 2 big sofas, ideal for a cosy weekend . Lovely little courtyard garden and just off the high street so not noisy. Wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again if we visit Arundel "

"It was a delight to hear the wildlife, and nothing else (!), during my stay at The Hideaway. - Quite refreshing. The accommodation has all one needs, but the emphasis has to be towards the “outdoors”, the tranquillity it offers and marvellous views of the countryside. Walks galore on your doorstep, or just find a spot to sit and take it all in. Well worth a visit."
