Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
We only needed one night of stay and it worked perfect for wife and I. Owners were Very polite. Plenty to do in the area though it was end of October.
Its not a fancy place, but the price, and quietness of the location made up for the appearance. We enjoyed the pool by ourselves, and had time to chill before a fun filled night. We felt safe, and enjoyed our conversations with staff. Would recommend.
It is an out dated motel, over priced. The beddings look old and unclean. The smell in guest room was unpleasant, terrible. The foot step noisy from the upper lever guest room was so loud.
This place was a nice surprise. Bed & pillows were great, water was hot. The electric is dated but works fine. Right on the road but road noise wasn’t bad. A steal for the price!
This hotel is stuck in the 1960s. Clean but very old and dated. I expected better give the price we paid; more than $250 for 1 night. The one bright spot was the cable tv.
The entrance walks are very dark, unlevel and broken. Furnishings are old. Tub caulk is loose and floppy. Heating baseboard units are filthy. Thermostat doesn’t adjust. Bed lamp switch broken, had to be plugged into our extension cord draped across the room to work. Only mirror is above the sink. No breakfast. Cost is well above the value. Saving grace: no bedbugs and the tv works.
This is a mid range hotel that apparently markets to hikers. It is older and not modernized. Pros: Rooms are very large. Excellent location, staff was nice and welcoming. Cons: most lights were the older kind of lights that have to warm up before they are fully bright - pretty cave like for a good while. Toilet ran all the time, but the place is well soundproof so you didn’t hear it. No handholds or rails of any kind in the shower. It was expensive for its age and late fall season (I guess leaf fall is the season though). I would stay there again.
The location was great. Beautiful sunrise. Forest are river just behind the hotel. The counter staff was super kind, very friendly and welcoming.
The room was neat, perfectly made and vacuumed.
There was however a waste basket from the previous guest that was not empty. The bathroom was filled with flies, i killed seven with a rolled tourist-magazine. (I have pictures).
So it’s a mixed bag.
We went for the Highland Games. $270 for a single night felt a little expensive for things not to be perfect.
Parkers Motel is a place to lay your head and clean up during a hiking excursion. Bare bones facility. Bed was an old spring mattress. Old bathroom...the tub was its saving grace as most hotels dont have one anymore and following several day hikes, my legs needed a good soak. It was walking distance from The Flume...however, the parking lot was empty when i arrived at 830 so could easily have stayed in Lincoln and driven 5 min. It was very clean and operator was nice but the facility was a 2 star at best.
