Was reluctant to review it, because I knew it would be so negative. But others need a warning. It’ll be jumbled as I have so many things to mention.
The island had a power outage on arrival... obviously out of their hands. But Sumi (a member of staff) lead us to our bungalow then walked off... didn’t mention there was no power or no water. Once the power was back, our aircon was broke. Eventually owner (over the phone) figured it was the trip circuit... we reset this. it worked. for about 2 mins. then tripped again, and continued to until we asked to move rooms the next day.
There’s no staff on site for most of the day and night.
The gardener is really friendly even though we didn’t speak the same languages.
But the real problem was Sumi, the cleaner/helper, not really sure what she was... she mostly sat on her phone by the pool. Very reluctant to help. Makes you feel like you’re inconveniencing her when ever you speak to her. Asked her about boat off the island.. quoted twice the price as we later saw down the road.. this was the only time she was “attentive” because I guess she was after some cash, but we went down the road and sorted it ourselves.
When I paid for the scooter on the last day,.. she said she had no change to give me.. I didn’t except this... so she went away and, low and behold, came back with some, but not all, said she didn’t have more. I didn’t except this either. 2 seconds later, came back with the rest. I’ve run out of space now.But there’s more
