"Coming to Costa Rica from the US, we weren't sure where to stay in Monteverde. This turned out to be a great choice, and with a little heads up, you'll have a great time here. The booking confirmation said to contact the property about 24 hours in advance to arrange for check-in. Don't ignore these instructions! We tried to call, but were not able to get through and only heard a brief recorded message in Spanish. Our fault for not speaking the native language, so that's on us. Try harder to...

"The property had amazing views. The best part was waking up in the morning to the sound of birds and other wild life and having chef prepared breakfast :) Some reviews did mention the bugs: you're in nature; it's expected and you get used to it and they do have pest control. No AC, but they provided fans and it was comfortable. Place is MUCH larger than the pictures. Highly recommend hiring James to cook for you!! We had him prepare breakfast daily! He's amazing and it makes getting started...

"The property itself is wonderful for a family vacation. Ample room for everyone with the library/entertainment area, the dining room, deck, covered swimming pool and hot tub and every room with its own bathroom. Patrick couldn't have been more helpful. It was like having your own Concierge. Very helpful coming up with activities and and recommendations. The staff were friendly and took care of everything. The breakfasts delicious and large. It all worked flawlessly. "

"This beautiful home was as advertised and now it even has a hottub over the parking area (which is not not in the pictures.) Communication was prompt and thorough. The road is just as bad or worse than everyone says. Many twists, turns, and potholes! Turning off Highway 1, the GPS said that the destinaton was on the right in 10 KM and it took 45 minutes to get there. We ordered delivery for dinner our first night and it was delicious. We also had Manu take us on a night hike around the property...

"The house was amazing. Very well maintained and clean. The view of the lake was fantastic. No A/C but that was not a problem for us in February. Property Manager was very responsive. About 45 to 1 hour from most activities in La Fortuna which is not a bad drive. Some good restaurants nearby. The only downside was we only got to use the hot tub for a few hours on two days of our 4 day trip because it was not supposed to be part of the listing so verify availability of the hot tub if that...
