"The little town about 2km outside of Forbach was a peaceful and pleasant area. Manfred was a great host who was there to greet us and show us the apartment. A lovely spot on the lower level with just two steps to get in. The kitchen was well equipped. Great recommendations from our host who also got us a train/bus pass for the area to use if we wanted it. Manfred also showed up a hour after we got settled and presented us with eggs from his chickens. The local store was well stocked with everything we needed. Everything was within walking distance. The area is also a major place to hike the Black Forest and you could either walk to one of the many trails or drive to convenient parking places for different starting points. It was a great start to our European adventure. If we are ever fortunate enough to be in the area again we would definitely look at booking again. It felt like a home away from home "

"Run by a lovely young family, this place is a veritable retreat. We got a balcony room over the river and it was worth it. You can see the covered bridge, stars, and the church overlooking the property. The beds are extremely comfortable. The breakfast is nice. The entire place is very cute, you can also book sauna for a reasonable fee as long as you tell them in advance. Out of all the places I've been this month, they have the best coffee. They have a children's area in the breakfast/dining room, this was very helpful for our kid. "

"This was a lovely hotel. However, be warned that if you book a room based on the picture you will be let down- there was no four-poster bed in our room. Actually although we had clearly booked a Kat4 room with a balcony, the first room we were allocated had no balcony and a view from the window of a wall. We complained and were then given a slightly larger room with a shared balcony, but no sign of the four poster bed. Breakfast was fine, and the breakfast staff were lovely. "

"Although we were only there for one night, it was enjoyable and comfortable. Views were spectacular surrounded by forest. One of our teens had to sleep outside as the couch was too small but luckily he was okay with it. Our phones still did not work well but we spoke to a hotel owner that helped us with directions to the nearest store."
