"The location and history is wonderful. The grounds are wonderful. The restaurant is handy and the property is well appointed. The water pressure is very poor and we had an box elder infestation, we actually left a day early without a refund. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The laundry facility is basic with one machine and one setting, and you have to schedule use."

So a lot of space for 4 people like us, it might be a bit more cosy with the supposed 8 people max. capacity. "Cabbiavoli was the gathering place for our two week celebration with family and friends for my husband’s retirement. We were within an hour of every place we wanted to visit (Florence, Siena, Piza, Volterra) and even got to do the Cinque Terre hike, albeit a long day but so worth the two hour drive time! "Surrounding is nice but coming to the apartment - disappointment. Spacious place but poorly maintained, grounds as well as bathrooms were not clean. Plenty of dead moskitos covered the walls additionally. Mold in the bathrooms and strange stains. There were doors instead of windows and no fly screens at all. "The Castle and surroundings are stunning. The property is right next to the castle and a short walk to the pool. It had everything we needed for our 3 days whist we explored the cities of Florence, Pisa and Siena, all a short car journey away. Because of the location you definitely needed a car. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend. Beautiful place."

"Had wonderful experience. Spacious. Clean. Quite pleasing view as well. Would have been better if it was river view, but terrace view wasn't that bad. Bed was comfy as well. Staff were all friendly."

"Hotel Calimala Firenze was probably one of the best hotels nested in the heart of Florence. My family of four was traveling Italy for 11 days during last Christmas holiday. We chose to stay at Hotel Calimala from 12:25-12/27. If you have a chance to stay at this property, please choose it without any hesitation. We reserved 2 bedrooms next to each other ( one room occupied by my 13 and 15 yr old sons). We stayed at a deluxe bedroom and everything was perfect. Welcome gifts and bottled water were served daily. We also had great amenities offered in both bedrooms. Breakfast was great and plentiful. House keeping was provided daily. Hotel staffs were very professional and courteous. Also everything is in walking distance. Uffizzi Museum was only 3 minutes away, shopping centers and restaurants were just minutes away, and even Duomo was only 4 minutes away. We plan to return to this property again in near future when visiting Italy. "

"We contacted the hotel to see if we could drop off our bags early and they said yes. When we arrived 2 hours early, our room was ready so we were allowed to check in then which was a pleasant surprise! They had free bottles of water in the room for us and bedroom shoes. The staff was very friendly and they did a great job in cleaning our room. The hotel was beautiful and we had a pleasant stay."
