Lovely Lake of Bays Cottage
After a very rocky start, our family weekend turned out to be a very good time. We had been given the wrong lock box code and wifi address/password, so we couldn't get into the property or contact the owner. Luckily a neighbour across the street was very kind, and allowed me to come in and use her wifi, so I could send a note to the owner through the site. We waited over 2 hours in the front yard, but then got the call with the correct access code so we could enter. The owners are very nice, and they did give us a small refund to make up for the rough start. The cottage is beautiful inside. I would say it's a little tight for 6 adults, as the 3rd bedroom is quite small for a couple, but the main floor bedroom is great, and the big bedroom upstairs with a balcony overlooking the back of the property is very nice as well. We love being on Lake of Bays, so we rented a boat from Lake of Bays Marina close-by, and we toured around the Lake with a stop in Dorsett for ice cream. We took a lot of walks, saw several deer, a couple of foxes, 2 pheasants, and a few blue jays. We didn't spend a lot of time on the dock, as it's a bit small and was shaded for much of the days (until the sun hits it mid-late afternoon), but we did go there for a couple of short visits, and friends came over on Sunday and were able to dock their boat in front of the dock. I definitely would prefer being lake-side, however this cottage is very nice and gave us a wonderful labour day weekend with our family!

Wonderful Holiday
The cabin was absolutely beautiful, comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The host was so kind and welcoming and available to answer questions. There was a short walk to the dock, however, the dock was large and had chairs, table, umbrella, and nice shallow water and Sandy bottom for swimming and playing. We traveled with teenagers, who especially enjoyed the high-speed internet and entertainment system on a rainy day. Everyone in our family had a great time. There's a beautiful fire pit, with marshmallow sticks and kindling. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. There's 2 and 1/2 bathrooms, washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge with basic condiments, spices, utensils, everything you need. There's also air conditioning, games, they even have beach towels. We were delighted by the wildlife, there's chipmunks and deers, it's also close to Regged Falls which we had a great hike at. The kitchen had anything you could possibly need. We even made spaghetti in the Crock-Pot, the barbecue is fantastic to use, the house is open and there's plenty of room for everyone. It's also close to the grocery store and there's a great chip wagon close by too! Thank you Marcie for being such a gracious host and for setting the stage for a wonderful family holiday ❤️

Nice cottage for a family getaway.
We really enjoyed our time at the cottage. We liked sitting on the decks, both front and back. These were great places to read a book or just chat. Very peaceful and quiet. We also liked watching the sunsets from the dock and exploring the nearby towns. The cottage itself was well equipped, and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. And we really enjoyed the campfire pit. Overall, I’d have no hesitation recommending it to anyone looking for a bit of time at a nice cottage by a lake.

Great home and warm, beautiful lake
The home was just as advertised. Rooms were great. The sound system was fantastic so if you like music be sure to use it. I loved all the extra conveniences and supplies that were left to us: some shampoo and toiletries, condiments, towels, even little inflatable tubes (and even a pump). Deer would visit us every day which was really cool; lots of birds like Bluejays and such as well. The dock was great - very short walk - and the water was so nice. Very warm and clear. Nice, affordable place to stay in the Muskoka area!

Great place for a getaway
We really enjoyed our four-day stay in your beautiful cabin. It was extremely comfortable and we found everything we could have possibly needed including some special touches such as beach towels (which we forgot at home), and lots of other little details. We loved sitting on the dock and swimming in the lake - so clear and clean. All in all, a great visit to Lake of Bays and Algonquin Park.

Our trip was short but it was sweet!
We had the best time at this cottage — the weather couldn’t dampen our spirits even though it tried its best. The cottage was just as advertised - if not better. It was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities you would expect at home but not necessarily the cottage. Great sound system and Apple TV that came in handy when it was raining out, a well stocked kitchen for utensils, plates etc and a dishwasher (big bonus!), comfortable beds and lots of space for us plus our big dog. The private dock truly is a very short walk down the road from the cottage. We packed our cooler bags with our drinks and snacks, and with the table and umbrella we were perfectly comfortable out at the dock all day as we were shaded when we needed it. The water was PERFECT! Clear, cool but warm. It was easy enough for our dog to get in and out of the water without having to jump off. There are other docks right next to this one, but the neighbours were all lovely and everyone was able to enjoy their space. The instructions and area information were so helpful and clear. One of the things I appreciated the most was the clean up info - it was the perfect balance of reasonable expectations to tidy up/reset before we left and what the hosts would take care of. It was a really pleasant surprise, vs at other listings, to be able to leave some recycling/garbage in a convenient place, and to tidy up. We didn’t feel like we were on high alert before we left; it was refreshing! Thank you!!

Piece of Paradise!
This cottage is absolutely perfect - Marcie & Brent go over and above to ensure all is perfect, and you have more than the essentials for your stay. From little toiletry baskets in each bathroom, to endless kitchen tableware & cookware, to blankets and pillows with spare sets in the closets, to a supply of deer and chipmunk/squirrel food, they cover it all! It was our first cottage rental we’ve ever done, but would 11/10 recommend renting this piece of paradise! With being very close to Algonquin, and all of the wildlife the area has to offer, it is very nice to “unplug” and spend some R&R time here - added bonus if you have a pup you want to bring along, especially with the water access just a quick walk down the road. Thank you very much Marcie & Brent, your attention to detail and care for this place does not go unnoticed! :)

Cottage in the woods
The accomodations were perfect for a fall get away. The cottage had everything we needed to experience the cool autumn weather. Loved seeing a deer come right into the front yard in the evening. We'd gladly come back during the summer to enjoy the dock and water. The dock is a small walk down the road from the cottage but one could easily spend the entire day there.
