Walk to Downtown - 10 Mins to Starved Rock!

Welcome to Starved Rock Country in this cozy 2 bedroom with bonus room, 1 ½ bath home has everything you need for your getaway! *Sleeps 7*

There is hiking just 10 minutes away at the state parks.
The downtowns of LaSalle and Peru have specials at the day spas, great restaurants, fantastic pizza, locally-owned boutiques, antique shopping and wine tasting.
Plus, be sure to visit Star Union Spirits Distillery in the historic Westclox Building in Peru.

Enjoy the fully fenced in backyard with its propane grill, deck and fire pit! Bring the kids- bring your dog!

If you have a dog, a pet fee is required: $25.00 / per stay. Maximum two dogs. NO CATS ARE ALLOWED. Simply let me know in your introductory email that you are bringing your dog and I will send the fee request. Thanks!

Pack a weekender bag and head down for a little escape in Starved Rock Country.

Relax in the modern, platform beds with crisp, white linens and down-alternative feather duvets.

Get your chef on in the fully stocked kitchen with all the appliances, cookware and dinnerware you'll need for seven. Coffee and tea are available for the morning.

The bathrooms are stocked with fresh towels and all basic amenities. The full bathroom is located on the second floor. The home does have a dormer roof so the upstairs rooms have slanted ceilings. This is not a problem for most guests but if you are really tall, you may find the shower to be less than ideal.

This home is full of light, vibrant colors and designer touches.

The home sleeps 7 guests.
The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and the upstairs bedroom has a queen bed. There is also a brand new, full size sleeper sofa in the living room and double futon in the upstairs common room- which is best suited for children.

THINGS TO DO
The home is located just blocks from downtown LaSalle and within walking distance of bars, restaurants and shopping and antiques .

The home is also right off the main route (Rt. 6) so driving to all the area attractions, including Starved Rock State Park (10 minutes) is easy.

Comfort and convenience when hiking Starved Rock and Matthiesson State Parks
This well-appointed, clean, comfortable house was perfect for our week in LaSalle, IL...And less than 15 min. drive to both parks! Elaine has provided many amenities and it was a treat to return from long hiking days to a home with plenty of task lighting, good water pressure, plenty of hot water, and comfy furniture. We cooked two meals and had every kitchen item we needed. We also enjoyed spending time in the town of LaSalle which has a lot of history. I would definitely stay at this home again when we return to explore the area!

Comfortable home
We enjoyed our nephews wedding weekend and stayed at Elaine’s home. It was comfortable for family to gather , loved the back yard ! My husband and son are tall , so the shower and upstairs poses a few problems for them. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable, especially for our grand daughter and grand dog . We could walk to many restaurants and to the wedding venue easily

Clean, safe and family friendly!
This property was absolutely perfect for my husband and I and our three-year-old daughter and our dog. The backyard is perfect for pets and we really enjoyed the patio set up, where we had fires and ate most of our meals. The house literally has everything you need and was incredibly clean. Elaine left great communication for us and made traveling to the state parks even easier than planned. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and it’s very easy to get to the state parks, Utica and Ottawa. August Hill winery has some great wine and is nearby! I recommend this property and we would definitely stay again if we were in the area. Thank you!

Dog friendly and excellent location!
The house is really cute and in a great location for walking to town for a bite! Elaine makes it so easy for you to bring your dogs…big yard, dog bowls to use, treats and even a toy to take home. We hiked at Starved Rock and ate in town at Uptown Grill (definitely recommended!) We all had a blast. We will be back.

Great location
We had a great time in this house. Very clean and well stocked with the essentials needed for a short weekend getaway. The property manager, Elaine, gave us plenty of area information to get acquainted with what’s around in the neighborhood. It was our first time using VRBO and everything ran smoothly. We will definitely be back soon. I would recommend this property for anyone looking for a short distance away from Starved Rock.

Perfect for family of 4
Elaine was great and the place was very clean. We stayed with our two daughters both under 5, and they loved it. The played all over the house but really liked the play area and spent time coloring too. Fire pit was great for hot dogs and s‘ mores (good idea to stop at Casey’s before and get a couple bundles of firewood) after a long day of hiking at Starved Rock. Perfect location on a quiet street and easy to get to the park about 10 minutes away. We most definitely will stay again when we go back!

Happy and content
Thank you for the great stay at this house. It was great to be able to bring our pups and they could just play and roam around in the back yard while we enjoyed the weather and family time together.. I also loved how well stocked the house was for the guests and puppies with the extra touch amenities. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely stay again. I would also recommend staying here.

House is cute and quirky with everything we needed for our too short trip to hike at Starved Rock. Outdoor space was our favorite and something we look for in a rental. Host supplied lots of great info on the area which was helpful. Would definitely rent again!!

The property was located perfectly in walking distance if you wanted to downtown Lasalle. Very close to all the hiking trails less then 10 minutes away. Elaine responds very quickly to questions or concerns. Clean and cozy. It was a quiet area. Us girls just wanted to relax and not have any schedules. We laughed and had a great time. Fabulous House & Location
Super cute house located close to all the Illinois Heritage Corridor attractions. The home was clean, nicely decorated, and had all the amenities needed for an extended weekend. Love that this property was dog friendly with a fenced yard so I was able to bring my girls for a hiking getaway at the state parks. Elaine even included some little doggy welcome gifts. The neighborhood was quiet even so close to downtown. We really enjoyed relaxing and being so close to everything we wanted to do/see. We will definitely be back!

Great location for visiting parks
This was a last minute booking, and we were happy with our stay. I was worried about it being a rental that allowed dogs, but it was super clean, and convenient for visiting the parks. We would consider coming again with our dogs. A bathroom with a shower is needed downstairs, because for tall, or even tallish people, the upstairs shower just doesn’t work. We are 6’4” and 5’10, and we were constantly bumping our heads on the ceiling in the bathroom and bedroom, and had to bend at the knees to take a shower.

Very clean and comfortable.
The house is very clean and overall very well done. Great location within easy walking distance to great restaurants and shops. Also a short drive to the 3 parks. Excellent communication through the whole process. The only concern we had it is the ceiling height on the 2nd floor and in the shower. If you are over 6’ tall, you will have to duck a lot.
