Great hotel in very convenient area of Kyoto, however the beds and 1 pillow provided are very hard, so not very comfortable sleep. A pillowtop on the beds and second softer pillow would be nice. The room and bathroom itself are nice though.

We stayed 4 night and it was awesome . The hotel has a great vibe, good amenities, the people are really helpful and its location is very central. The breakfast is half continental half Japanese. We enjoyed it a lot !

Love the early 20th century style and low key vibe of this hotel! Everything we wanted to see was close by. Popular shopping, eating and drinking areas were within a 5-10 minute walk, but the noise did not follow us back to the hotel. Proximity to the canal was a wonderful amenity.

A great choice in Kyoto
Super friendly and helpful staff. Great location for public transport, shopping and nightlife. The breakfast buffet was great, the hotel bar was a quiet refuge from the busier bars in the area. Their unlimited wine for an hour for 1000 yen was hard to refuse.
