"This is amazing hotel located on the hills of Lake Toba, it takes around 4 hours from Silangit airport and 5 from Medan. If you like nature and relax away from buzzy cities this is your spot, also inside the property are plenty activities to do as you are isolated in the middle of the forest. With incredible landscapes similar to Scotland this hotel was recomended for some friends who visited few years back. Staff makes your stay unforgettable. "The hotel is a short walk from the town square ( or circle) so easy acces from the bus, close to markets, coffee shops and restaurants. It was clean, the shower hot and the bed comfy. But the hosts were great. Very friendly, helpful with advice, even offered a ride to the base of the volcano."

"This is a lovely homestay in Berastagi, about a 20 min walk along the main road to reach the town centre with the 'cabbage monument'. Nachelle makes incredible homemade pizzas from scratch - a must (if you like pizza)! There's also a water cooler for you to use and fill up your bottle. It's a bit of a hike if you're staying on the top floor, but they help you with your luggage.
