The room is very clean and comfortable. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. The location is very good, central to the shopping street and just steps away from the bus terminal. Overall, delighted to their services and hospitality provided.

Great Ryokan! Amazing food and greatest location in Arima. Fantastic service and beautiful Japanese style rooms. Can't go wrong with it. Would not recommend to bring children under 13. Actually, they should not allow children under 13 due to the wood construction, which can be really noisy. I am glad there were no small children around. They offer all that you need, however unlikely other hotels or Ryokan in Japan, they do not offer lotion. Also advised the hotel that they should reconsider their shampoo. Unlikely other hotels, their shampoo really messed up our hair. Love this place, wishing to return soon!

Very rustic, but in a nice way. Staff were very attentive and made great efforts to speak English and address our questions and needs. Room was very nice and quite large. However, beds could have been more comfortable.

This was probably the BEST place I stayed at while in Japan. The staff is super nice and attentive. They took the time to explain how to use the onsen amenities as well as the door systems for their hotels, even how their food is served while at breakfast. They asked us what time we wanted to have breakfast upon check in so that it was squared away for the next day; their traditional Japaense breakfast was delicious! They require you to take off your shoes at the entrance, and identified our shoes correctly every time we left the building! Honestly it felt like the staff had magic! They also asked what time we wanted to have our rooms made for the night and had it ready by the time we came back from exploring the city. They have onsens and provide yukatas so that their guests can wear around the property; even at breakfast! Overall I would have been glad to stay here my entire trip; genuine highlight of our trip.

Super love the spaciousness and the environment of Tocen. We travel with small children, it’s hard to leave them for public hot spring. This private onsen is perfect.

Incredible place that gave our family a wonderful experience of traditional Japan. The property is pristine and museum-like. For our family with teens, one night was perfect. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We are very glad we booked this property and made the trip, even though it was off our path. The surrounding town is lovely to stroll, shop and experience a hot springs town.

분위기 좋고 친절한 온천 료칸
아리마 온천 마을의 버스정류장 바로 옆에 붙어있는 고풍스러운 온천 료칸입니다. 이곳에 최초로 지어진 유서 깊은 료칸이라고 하네요. 그만큼 분위기 있고 시설도 좋습니다. 역사가 깊은 만큼 멋을 풍기지만 걸을 때 나무가 삐걱대거나 바람이 많이 불면 창이 흔들리는 소리가 나기도 합니다. 료칸답게 엘리베이터는 없으나 체크인시 직원이 방까지 캐리어를 올려줍니다. (내리는건 셀프) 저희는 4층이고 짐이 무거워서 어떻게 올리셨나 궁금하네요..ㅠ 직원들이 친절하고 다들 영어를 잘 합니다. 료칸 방은 3인 가족이 충분히 쉬기 좋았구요. 들어가면 테이블이 놓여져있고 저녁식사 후에는 테이블이 치워지고 두꺼운 요이불이 깔립니다. 유카타도 있어서 온천욕 후 마을 한바퀴 돌기 좋습니다. 료칸 내에 공용 온천이 있습니다. 2층에 있고 남녀로 나누어 들어가면 내부에 샤워실, 그 안쪽에 실내 은탕과 노천 금탕이 있습니다. 은탕은 매우 뜨거워서 들어가지 못하고 ㅠ 금탕은 적당한 뜨거운 온도여서 좋았습니다. 제일 안으로 들어가면 남여탕이 붙어있는데 낮은 돌담으로 되어있어 일어나는 것은 금지입니다. 그래도 사용에 불편함은 없습니다. 료칸 숙박 손님들만 사용하기 때문에 공용이어도 사람이 없거나 1명정도 있는 정도입니다. 프라이빗탕이 건물 옆 별관으로 있는 모양인데 60분에 5500엔 정도이지만 굳이 사용 필요성을 느끼진 못했습니다. 저녁시간은 사전에 호텔스닷컴 메시지로 1730,1800,1830라고 안내를 받았으나 마지막 예약가능 시간을 물어봐서 19시가 가능하다고 해서 19시로 했습니다. 아침식사 시간은 0800,0830,0900 가능합니다. 체크인 15시, 체크아웃 10시, 온천 운영시간 15~9시반 (밤 12~1시 청소), 마을 상점들이 17시까지 운영이므로 시간 계획 하시고 식사시간 예약을 사전에 메시지로 보내는 것이 좋습니다. 가이세키는 1층 식사테이블에서 진행되는 옵션으로 했구요. 저녁은 와규 포함 코스요리, 아침은 생선과 두부데침으로 한상으로 나왔습니다. 아침보다는 저녁이 확실히 풍성하고 맛있습니다. 건물이 커서 좋은게 층마다 소파 등 휴식공간이 있고 퇴실 후에도 잠시 버스시간까지 앉아있을수 있는 코타츠가 1층에 있습니다. 무엇보다 아리마온천은 버스로 가는게 한번에 가고 제일 편한데, 그 버스정류장 바로 옆에 있다는 점때문에 교통이 아주 편리합니다. 가격은 비싸지만 한번쯤 경험해볼만 합니다.
