Book a family room for three nights stay in this hotel. Overall, we are satisfied with this hotel. The room is reasonably spacious and clean. Room service makes up the room everyday. Breakfast is good with variety and can choose to dine at any one of three locations. However, the foods are the same for all three days. The parking location is at another building opposite the hotel. The link bridge between the hotel and the parking has stairs. Not friendly for luggage. There is a convenience store inside the hotel, a plus point.

It was very convenient and clean. They upgraded my room to a twin room (quiet floor), so I had a larger room to relax before my flight. The train station to Kobe airport is located next to the hotel, just a few min away! They seem to have events and buffets, so I would like to come back to stay for a few days here with my family next time.

We were pretty excited about this hotel, given all of the amenities. In reality, you can't use any of the amenities without paying a completely unreasonable amount of money. The hotel is showing its age - the hallways leading to our room were gross and smelled strange. The room itself had lots of issues - primarily pillows that were flat out unusable. The restaurants on site were overpriced for what they were offering. We were excited about the possibility of bike rentals based on a sign we saw - then we realized those were 45 minutes away. All in all, definitely would not reccomend. Was very convenient to get to the airport but that was about it. Word of advice : charge a little bit more for the hotel and make the amenities free..then you have a hotel i would actually stay at.

The hotel is a very well established famous hotel in Kobe Japan. However, the location is very inconvenient.

This hotel was a huge disappointment for my family and I, although it looks modern, the rooms are old and the bathrooms are moldy, the hotel is located in an area that has a lot of manufacturers therefore there is a lot of contamination, the service was terrible and staff was rude, while I was there I noticed that there were not many American tourists, mostly Asian tourists, although the hotel claims they have plenty of restaurants they are are not for foreigners, only for Asians, but that is something I noticed in other cities in Japan as well, Japanese people are not very welcoming to tourists.

Perfect Portopia Kobe
We loved the Portopia Hotel. It felt very resort- like, with great amenities. We actually chose it because of the outdoor pool, and even though we had to pay an additional fee to use the pool, it was worth it, as it was never crowded and was super clean and well staffed. We actually felt a fee kept numbers down which was good. We also loved the breakfast buffet - the best of our whole trip. And the view - 30th floor buffet, just beautiful. The staff were really friendly and helpful, from front desk to housekeeping. We particularly loved the housekeeping team who greeted us every day! And location, while away from down town, the free and regular shuttle was fantastic, quick and regular. We highly recommend this hotel and if we are in Kobe again will definitely stay here again. Our stay at portopia hotel was great, however we booked the hotel because it advertised that they have a gym, pool and laundry. Once we arrived, we were told all the amenities are an extra charge per day. Laundry was by item so if we were to do our laundry it would cost 100s of dollars. The restaurants in the hotel look really great, but are expensive and open late, close during the middle of the day, and close early at night. There are not really any other restaurants in the area.
