"The hotel is beautiful. The pool looking onto the beach is stunning. Reception staff are super friendly. Not great for solo travellers if you want a really social vibe and to meet people with activities etc, there is one dorm. The hotel hosts large groups of young travellers. Its sometimes feels like they take over the hotel. They have BBQs, quizzes, parties etc and the rest of the hotel is excluded. Great place to chill."

"Don't stay here. Rooms smell like sewage problems. Showed up and armed guards were all over the place ."

"Love this old Sino Portuguese property in Old Town. Love d it. The area is butane, amazing food options, amazing building, and street parking is easier than it seems, if you find the reason to have a car. Car actually đặt around unused for a day. No worries about moving it, etc."

"The place and stay were beautiful! The only thing that I didn’t like was that there were insects everywhere, I was reaching for coffee that’s provided with the room and there was an ant trail going up the wall then when I came home I found lizard under my clothes that I set by the sink. If small insects bother you I would pass on this place but if you can deal then this is a nice stay"

"We had a lovely stay, I would recommend this place highly, the staff are lovely and we even received a little Christmas gift. The place is down a nice quiet road away from all the noise, there are a few nice local restaurants around the property too ! Great stay all round. "

"The property was modern, clean and had a very comfortable bed. I stayed here for 5 nights and loved it, il be back again one day! The only downside was that there wasn’t a cleaner, plus the location was far out but I had a moped so it was perfect for me. The price was brilliant and so art from the lack of a cleaner I would give the property 5 stars!"

"This was a great experience to have a holiday in a private villa with your own pool overlooking the beach. The villa's are starting to become a bit run down and need some updating, however they are kept very clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a lot of rubbish on the beach, making it hard to enjoy with the kids, but this seems to be a problem throughout the island. "We had a room with a pool balcony. The pool needed cleaning when we arrived and outside areas need refreshing and new paint. The staff were extremely helpful, pool was lovely and food was nice. However, the hotel is advertised as being on thr beach, but, the building is so far back that the tide is only out for 1 hour a day giving a tiny beach area, the rest of the time you have to access a dirty ladder that leads to the beach and use other properties facilities such as sunbeds if you want to spend any time on the beach"

"We have had amazing time while staying at The Hive in Lamai Beach. Could the rooms (especially the bathroom) do with a refresh? Probably, but the beautiful staff and wonderful location. The staff, from reception, to restaurant, to housekeeping and grounds could not be more welcoming or friendly. I look forward to returning sometime"
