"Property manager forgot to send code for key safe. Managed to get it indirectly by email but no easy contact was forthcoming thereafter. Street door lock cheap and worn. Next door to lobby broken and taped up. Lobby not been cleaned for weeks. Cheap lock on door to apartment. Security practically non existent. "Beautiful apartment in lovely, historic building. Extremely tasteful furnishings with fantastic mullioned windows. Very scenic spot with gorgeous views and a very pretty town- Rothbury. Super walks from the house and only 25 minutes from very sandy Alnmouth beach. Our dog loved it all and we, as well as him, were made to feel very welcome by the owner in our communication. "

"The apartment is decorated and furnished in a charming fashion. It is well eqipped for a comfortable stay. The location allowed us to walk everywhere we needed to go so that we only needed a taxi when we had to transport our luggage. The hostess, Sarah was very helpful both before and during our stay. We had a most enjoyable week exploring Hexham with a side trips by train to Newcastle and a day at Hadrian's Wall with a private guide. "

"The Granary at Carr Edge was a lovely place; I hope we can visit again. It's in a beautiful spot with gorgeous views on both sides. It looks remote on the map, but access to Hexham, Hadrian's Wall and various forts and museums was easy. It's picturesque, a stone-built farm house and outbuildings, so like my grandparents' that I visited as a child. Everything was perfect down to the signage. "As soon as you open the door you are met with a filthy stair carpet and you can smell the dirt on it. Beds very uncomfortable. Chairs and settee not good for relaxing. Whole place needs to be decorated and thoroughly cleaned. Bathroom was acceptable. We had booked for 3 nights but left after 1 night and found a hotel."

"On first appearance the property was lovely, however, the cooker was not very clean and there was quite a few trip hazards where the carpets joined in the doorways also a large mat curled up at the corners. I removed it for our safety.. the tv did not have a terrestrial service and the wifi was poor the beds were not large enough for an adult male and the duvets were too short."

"Beautiful little cottage. Me and my husband took our dog away for a few days in January '25 and this was perfect. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was warm and spacious with a view of the garden. The kitchen had everything that you could need and the fire was great to settle down infront of after a long day exploring This was a good base for exploring Northumberland."
