"Nice cozy and comfortable cottage has everything for a perfect vacation! The host is friendly and prompt in communication. We had a great time!"

"The cottage is in the perfect area to view the northern lights. It’s just close enough to the nearby town and just far enough to not get the light pollution. The outdoor hot tub for each individual cottage is perfect to sit in and watch the lights. They have the cutest ‘community’ dog that is very sweet and so well behaved. Just be aware if you are allergic to dogs! The bed seems to be a bit old and it was awkward to have just one side to get in and out through as the rest of the bed is up...

"This was a *wonderful* home to stay in for our time in Iceland. It was a hub for lots of great day trips, but there was plenty to do in the house as well -- lots of great games, a beautiful kitchen to cook and eat in, and views galore. We didn't have time to use the hot tub, but I imagine that would also have been delightful!"

The location allowed for a quiet, peaceful stay with the ability to see the northern lights without light pollution, and was not far from many sites and attractions. "Gljúfurbústaðir is a lovely place, perfectly positioned for exploring the South Coast or doing the Golden Circle. Very spacious. Hot tub a nice bonus. Not a big deal, but the hot water smells strongly of sulphur (low carbon footprint!). "

"The property was clean and maintained. The kitchen had most items needed for cooking, although a microwave would have been a good addition. The sauna was great, but the hot tub wasn't filled when we arrived and never was usable for the evening. Staff were very helpful and friendly. "

"We are parents and 2 adult children. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and well thought out with all necessary needs. It is very quiet and lovely for those who are not city folks. We enjoyed many road trips from this spot on our short stay. We would certainly recommend it for exploring the west country, which is fascinating. Many thanks to our hosts for this little piece of heaven."

"This was a perfect house for our holiday in Iceland. We were there with an extended family group of three families - parents and teenage and young adult children. The location is about 15 minutes from Selfoss, 1 hour from Rekyavik and 1.5 hours from Keflavik airport. It allowed easy access to all the attractions of the southern region. "The cottage is lovely and in a beautiful setting. My family of eight had a great stay for a week and we would absolutely recommend it."

"Great location and quiet setting, close to nature. Good condition of the cabins, although we could not figure out the TV signals - not our priority since we wanted to experience the outdoors. Everything else works well and you feel comfortable. On the dow side, the mosquitoes wouldn't allow us to sleep well. Suggest replacing windows blinds with a darker color to provide shade at night during Summer."

"This property was an old articulated bus, separated into three units, fitted into a hillside with the mountain looming over us and a view of the ocean on the other side. "We stayed at Alda Hotel for 7 nights and loved our time there. In addition to the aspects we liked marked above, they have an exceptional front desk staff that kindly takes care and with a warm smile of any questions or requests. One person stood out as an extraordinary hospitality ambassador, Ms Violeta, who is beyond extraordinary. If we return to Reykjavik we will definitely stay here again, mostly so we can enjoy her sincere customer service with a smile. I worked 30 years for a company that served the biggest attractions parks, five star hotels and destination management companies, from my experience of working with the top in the hospitality industry, I recognize greatness in Violeta who exceeds any such standards by far. So much so that she should be training others in this field. Also, the hotel offers a nice breakfast buffet which includes vegetarian options. If you need anything in your room that is not already there, just ask. They will do their best to accommodate you. Also, it is so convenient to walk around, go to bus stop #9 for excursions, and/or call a taxi. It is within walking distance from almost everything worth seeing in Reykjavik, or a non-expensive taxi ride from the others like Sky Lagoon and Perlan Museum. "
