The Space:
Boasting a private swimming pool, what makes Sofiana so special is its traditional character along with coziness and sense of serenity near nature. It has stone walls and the ceiling is coated with cypress trunks and reeds. It is surrounded from 2000 sqm of gardens full of trees and flowers. The property has two levels. On the ground floor there is a living room with a sofa bed, a fully-equipped kitchen and two bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with 2 single beds, plus a full bathroom with a washing machine. In one of the bedrooms there is an equipped office desk. On the upper floor, a kitchenette, one more double bed bedroom and a bathroom with shower. All rooms are air-conditioned for optimal comfort. At summertime the house remains cool due to the stonewalls.
We will gladly provide you with herbs from our garden, coffee/tea, sugar/salt, local olive oil and a welcome treat on the day of your arrival.
At the gardens, there are many olive trees and many different plants. Depending on the season we are planting vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers and fruits like bananas and watermelons. There is a traditional wooden fired stonewall oven, a classic barbecue, a wooden self-made ping-pong table, dining tables and swing sets.
There is a beautiful impressive tree house on the top of a large old olive tree where you can relax and medidate. A double bed can also be found there.

Close by, Gramvousa Island (13km) beckons with its Venetian fortress and awe-inspiring vistas. There is a frequent bus connection to and from Drapanias village towards various locations, such as Kissamos and Chania. We highly recommend you rent a vehicle in order to venture out and explore more freely! The Chania International Airport is at 47 km from the proeprty.
