"Beautiful hostel overlooking the park and lake. Friendly staff allowed me to check in early as my bed was ready and even asked if I wanted a top or bottom bunk which was much appreciated. The kitchen was spacious and the rooms and bathroom were very clean. The 4 bed female dorm felt a bit cramped at times but the bed setup is well thought out with privacy curtains, generous underbed storage and an additional smaller locker, both of which can be padlocked. Highly recommend this hostel!"

"Great stay with a friendly and helping host Good alternative to staying in Tekapo where prices are high due to mass tourism without being too far (30 min-ish by car) Comfortable space and beds Great hot shower with strong jet Terrace in the backyard (I was able to easily dry my tent after camping) Free covered parking spot Located 1 street away from a laundromat (with automated machines that already have soap) Excellent Wi-Fi Kitchenette available Overall good bang for your buck"

"Absolutely wonderful accommodation. This place is newly renovated and gorgeous. Everything is pristinely clean and new. The staff are exceptional….. so helpful and welcoming. If you’re going to Twizel and looking for a place to stay you should come here. You won’t be sorry! "

"Awesome little cabins with air conditioner right off the highway for easy access . We were in cabin 29 and was right at back private and quiet "

"The facility is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. It is noted that this facility is very remote and “out in the middle of nowhere.” We used it as a base to get to Mt. Cook (~90 minute drive) which worked well for us. Finally the bar/restaurant was very convenient with good food. Recommend the facility for a quiet getaway"

"If you’re looking to be away from the tourists in Tekapo, this is the place. Only 15 minutes away, it’s almost the middle of nowhere, in a good way. Just a few rooms, in a beautiful mountain setting, and if it hadn’t been so cloudy the starry sky would have been amazing. Quirky retro display across the highway and local history on display. Owner was very kind and helpful. "

"This is a place you need to bring your own bedding (which we had) and towels (which we forgot :-) ) It was good value for money. We did not have internet. I am not sure if that could have been arranged. We stayed as a couple with my brother but we think it might be also a really nice place for a family. It is easy walking to the town center. We would come again."
