"The hosts bent over backwards to personalise our stay, whilst respecting our privacy. From the homemade tablet, pancakes and artwork to the birthday balloons and beers, we had a lovely break. The cabin has everything you need, and the hot tub is fantastic to soak in under the stars. We just wish we could have stayed longer to explore the area more. "Lovely cabin with everything you need supplied and many extras. Everywhere is covered from the seating area outside to the hot tub which is amazing. The hosts are lovely and friendly and anything you need is available."

"I booked this home for my husbands 30th surprise. The house is ideal for gatherings as there is no one for miles to disturb. This property can be seen from the road and looks amazing. Unfortunately some of the party struggled to sleep due to the bedding having a strong smell. Other than the bedding the house is clean. I booked this home as it had a hot tub which didnt work which we we only found out on arrival and also a bbq which we then found out when we were there you needed coal which we...

Everything you need for an overnight stop

"The hotel is located next to the shops and restaurants at the service station. Parking is in the regular service station parking Check-in was fast, with very little paperwork to complete. The room was large with tea and coffee facilities and all that we needed in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and there was very little traffic noise. If we ever needed to stop overnight on our way north we would definitely consider stopping here."

Great bothy

"The Bothy is a great find. Intimate space ideal for a couple that would suit a small family too. Bothy was spotless. Some nice walks nearby and interesting spots a short drive away. The hot tub is really welcoming on a cold evening."

Idyllic 3 bedroom cottage in the Village of Wanlockhead

Lovely Wee Village

"This is a fantastic cottage in an adorable village. It has rolling hills, a burn and lots of sheep! The cottage itself was quite large and was fit for our family of 6, including adult children and their spouses. It was clean, decorated well and rather comfortable. There are amenities within walking distance such as a pub, museum, etc. We wished we had stayed longer and we'll definitely return!"

Surprisingly great stay

"Our room had recently been refurbished and may also have been an upgrade (ask for room numbers 10-16). Facilities and decor were excellent, with a walk-in shower, comfortable bed and free parking. We didn’t have dinner in the hotel but the restaurant was very busy. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was of a good standard. Staff were friendly and professional so we would have no hesitation in recommending the Royal Hotel."

"This is a perfect place to stay when travelling and to break up the journey. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room was excellent, quiet and comfortable and the fact that we could take our well behaved dog was why we chose to stay. The bar and dining options available make this a great place to stay. 5 star breakfast and evening meal."
