"We had a good time at DCanal. The property is nicely decorated, is very clean and has a lovely pool and garden. To say the staff were great would be an understatement. They were very friendly and always checking if we needed anything. The buffet breakfast was lovely and freshly prepared every morning. My only critique of this property is it is a 15min walk to the town & beach but they do provide a free tuk tuk service from 10am to 7 pm. The beach bar pictures shown here are not on this...

"Very nice place, quiet and comfortable. Litteraly 2 minutes walk to the beach and lots of restaurants in the area. Ac works good, big room and delicious breakfast. The owner is a very nice and kind woman we recommend 100%"

"Lovel peaceful hotel - slightly away from central street , but handy for beach. The benefit of being away from centre is that property was well laid out and spacious - properties closer to beach and centre appeared to be quite cramped. Hotel had all facilities you could have asked for - including kettle on 1st floor verandah. We were in no rush to leave"

En revanche les fenêtres qui ne ferme pas et laisse rentrer les moustiques et le bruit c’est pas fameux … L’hôtel juste à côté qui fait de GROSSES fête sur la plage jusqu’à 3h30 ce n’est super non plus …. "The staff was amazing the chef made some of the best food I have ever tasted!! He was very sweet and very involved in all aspects of the villas. The curry was out of this world as well as the pasta 10 out of 10 all around. The room was large and beautiful, you felt like you had the place to yourself very highly recommend!!!"

"The place is situated close by all the relevant beaches, especially Hiriketiya and Nilwella beach. It is about 10-15 minutes to get to hiriketiya road where most of the shops/resturants are. Its calm and tranquil at this place, away from the busy scene at hiriketiya road yet not to far to get there when you want. Space to park if u have tuk tuk, scooter etc. The rooms are cozy and clean. "Didn't know what to expect when we booked way back 6 or 7mths ago. It's a shame we only had 2 nights... could easily spend longer. Hotel, is clean and spacious with staff very friendly with nothing being too much trouble. Our room is great, plenty of space, with views from the balcony over the harbour or the small hill to the nearby secret beach. Ideally located for Marissa beach or the whale watching kick of point... both in very easy walking distance. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby, if fancy a change but food available here. The pool is a great addition and we certainly made use of that, with views over the harbour. Would recommend without a second thought. The small staff team are fantastic. "

"Enjoyed my stay. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The hotel itself is nice but the rooms are a bit dated. I would consider this a 4 not 5 star hotel. Special shout-out to Subhadra who was fantastic from housekeeping my entire staff. Definitely a highlight. Would recommend this hotel. "
