There are plenty of nice places to stay on the island, but this one falls very, very short of the expectations of a "hotel," especially for the price. It's an unfinished building with a lovely rooftop pool and shifty staff.
First, the host is unprofessional and unresponsive. He didn't respond to any of our follow-up messages.
This "hotel" is located in a not-so-good area that's actually a residential community. There's a group of locals who gather close by and a pack of barking dogs that were loud all throughout the night.
The hotel did not provide towels in the bathroom or a blanket on the bed, so it was either sweat or freeze while you slept. In addition, there was no hot water in the bathroom. They also advertise that they have wifi and Netflix, but the wifi is very choppy. The Netflix account was inactive. We received a message that there was an issue with the billing for the account. It was hard to make phone calls, and I was unable to do my work (I work remotely, which could've cost me my job). Apparently, these folks only think their jobs are important because they didn't seem to care about the impact of their insufficiencies on me or my livelihood.
The front desk manager and attendants were also evasive. When I shared my concerns, the manager was conveniently in a meeting and unable to speak with me directly. She had the attendants do what is part of her job so that she could avoid the situation. When I did
