"Had a hard time figuring out how to adjust the temperature. It was warm in the room, but I did open the windows more which helped a great deal. Wouldn’t recommend for elderly people or anyone with difficulty climbing stairs."

"This property and the hosts are full of warmth and character. They made us feel very welcome. The wood-burning stove in the dining room was wonderful to sit by. The breakfast was delicious. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we slept soundly. The property is close to a busy road. However, the road is recently resurfaced and we slept peacefully."

"Great hospitality from the staff. Breakfast was good but a little overpriced for a basic continental spread. I would have expected the continental breakfast to be included with the room rate. Dinner in the restaurant was fabulous! I would love to dine there again. When I got my final bill for my stay (room and breakfast) I was asked if I wanted to add further gratuity to it which was a little surprising and made me feel a bit awkward. "Birds farm is a lovely place to stay for the local Essex or Sussex area. Very quiet in the evenings, despite being just off a busy road.
