Flight Information: There are many direct flights available from April thru to End October with the main tour operators, Thomson, Olympic and now Easyjet & Jet 2. Out of season you can get to the island via Athens, from Athens to Kefalonia you will need to use Olympic airlines. You can also fly via Pisa with Ryan air from London Stansted.
Kefalonia: Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian islands. Very unspoilt with beautiful varied landscape. Beaches offer something for everyone safe sandy or pebbly, all with beautiful clean blue water and excellent for snorkelling.
Places to visit - villages such as Assos and the beautiful harbour of Fiscardo, virtually undamaged by the earthquake of 1953 are well worth a visit also the beautiful church of Agios Gerasimos, the Drogarti caves and Melissani Lake. You could also take a day trip to Ithaca. If you like walking visit the dramatic Mount Ainos,1628m, and its surrounding National Park. In Omala Valley you will find the famous Robola vineyards.

Weather - the weather on the island is very warm from May right through to October. The winters are mild with many a sunning day even in December.
Food and drink: Local mini markets will provide essentials e.g. bread, fresh milk. There are also main supermarkets which will provide you will all the essentials you will need mid way between the Villas and Argostoli. There are daily fruit and veg markets in Argostoli with harbour front fish and meat also of a very high standard. In the main town there are a selection of food stores with a wider range of groceries. There are numerous tavernas around the island offering fresh fish, meat, pasta, salads and local dishes. In Argostoli, there are more restaurants to enjoy also some excellent patisseries. For wine lovers there are several wineries on the island to visit and sample the local Robola grape.
